I hope u can help me, i just want my phone factory reset :(

Does the phone let you enter bootloader ? > Power off > press and keep pressing Vol Down key for like 10 seconds and press the power key for 2 seconds
You can factory reset the phone in fastboot menu !

If it does not let you reset even in bootloader mode, reply so we can carry on.

yeah it lets me go into boot mode, but when i go down to factory reset and press the power button it brings up a htc picture with red writting saying * This build is for development purposes only, do not distribute outside of htc with out htc's written permission, Failure to comply may lead to legal action * and it just stays there, so yeah i do not know what to do :(

You get that message when a custom recovery is on the phone (usually for the rooting process). It doesn't harm your device in any way.

@luke - It sounds like your buddy was messing around with the root process. Best bet would be to get into bootloader mode, relock the Bootloader, and then run an RUU. I believe the steps were linked for you already, if not I can help you out if you need it.

same message on my htc one x
it's rooted
all my system files is lost
what can I do??
please HELP

Did you factory reset while rooted (with a custom recovery)? Because that's exactly what it does. You will need to restore a nandroid backup or flash a new ROM to get things working.

Or you can go ahead and install Viper One S ROM, it's great ! and it will be a lot easier than run the RUU onto it !

The user mentioned that he/she has a one x, I wouldn't put a one s rom on it. ;) I do believe that there is a viper rom for the one x as well, but I am not sure.

Hi guys,
I have a similar issue with my HTC One also. It can't factory reset either from the boot loader. There is some history behind though, it was dropped on water and that's where it all started.
After doing the rice trick to get as much humidity out as possible, the phone turned on but went into a loop of turning on and off immediately. A couple of days after it could stay longer turned on but always on the HTC warm up screen and after a minute it turned off.
It is possible to access the boot loader using the hardware buttons, so they work, the LCD and the battery are working (obviously) and the charging port as well. But the weird thing is that after selecting any option of the bootloader it either turns off or freezes.
I already opened it and cleaned as much as possible with isopropil alcohol. It is in the same state as before...
Any ideas or previous experience tips?
Thanks!
