Root [Verizon] Droid X --> S3, can I transfer over app data? (Titanium Backup?)

I just picked up a Galaxy S3 to replace my Droid X (verizon). My Droid X is rooted, and I have Titanium backup installed, which allows me to backup the data within my apps. I plan to also root the S3, and I'm hoping with Titanium backup that I can transfer the data of my apps to it. Is this possible?

Since the Droid X and S3 are running two different versions of Android, not to mention that S3 has touchwiz. My most pressing concern is my text message history. I used handcent on the DX as my texting app. If I also install Handcent on the S3, can I use Titanium backup to restore my text history too? If not, is there another app to accomplish this?

Thanks for any advice.

While some would not advise this, I've successfully done this switching from an evo 3d (htc) running 4.1.2 to an epic 4g touch (sammy) running 4.0.4 without any problems.

As well as switching from my e4gt to my new s3, different os versions still without running into problems.

My advice is to restore one by one incase you run into any problems rather than a batch restore.

If you've backed up hand cent, it should restore your texts as long as you choose to restore apo+data.

I would be extremely selective with that. Maybe do only the ones you need and do them one at a time.

I also went from Droid X to S3. I used SMS backup, and is safe irrespective of OS.
