Help What happened to the speed dial in Jellybean

I just received the Jellybean update on my Droid Razr Maxx. It definanly has improved my phones performance but I can't set up speed dialing. Was it removed or am I missing something? Thanks everyone

Speed dial is gone. I used it too. So now I use the Direct Dial widget. When you pop it on your screen it will open your contacts and you can select who you want. I have about half a dozen set up that I use all the time. I dropped them on top of each other to make a folder. Kinda also keeps me from accidentally tapping the icon because it immediately dials. I actually think it is faster than speed dial with less taps and fewer screens.

Thanks TriciaH, I think I will use the favorite contacts widget instead. Used to use this and speed dial. Guess I will just use the widget instead

Direct Dial is a stock widget.

Press and hold widget until it until it is ready for moving. Don't move it. Just remove your finger and it will drop back down into place with a blue bar around it with a diamond on each side. Press and hold anywhere on the side you want to expand and drag to expand or contract that side.

I'm using the Nova Prime launcher, so it won't work. When I press and hold, I get a pop-up that gives me a choice of resizing or deleting the widget.I temporarily switched back to the default launcher, and the press and hold did not work. However, if I swiped down on the widget, It would expand. I tried the same thing again in Nova Prime and it still did not work.

I can live without the widget, but it would have been nice to have it as an option for quick connecting...

Faster, maybe but you have to look for the right contact, with speed dial your number keys are in a specific order and its a simple press and done.

My dad is a over the road truck driver, with bluetooth headset, voice dial isnt a great option his pronunciation is horrendous it would take him 5 mins minimum to call one person using voice dial. The "helpful" voice just keeps saying did you say (some random contact) or please try again.
