that is crazy, when I soft bricked my phone I took it to metro an got a new one but how were you able to unsoftbrick your phone
 
With update zip from zte web I was able to get the zip in sd my recovery was ok so I flash through there the first a did the same like you but the only way that I was able to flash was dfu so nothing work in dfu I when to metro a got a new one :D
 
bro i jus had the same prob.with beats audio.i downloaded the update from zte,big file.so now its on my pc and lemmie tell ya im really new to all this.will u please,whenever u have the time,explain what to do after i download update.i kno its gotta get to my sd card.i can get to recovery mode on phone.but all the rest is givin me a headache.i cant afford a new phone,i would greatly appreciate any and all input...ty much..

You copy the update zip to your SD card, boot into recovery. There is an option to update from SD card. Click that, it'll take you to your SD card root folder, simply find the update zip you copied over and click that zip. Once it's finished installing, everything is updated and ready for you to go hassle free. Be sure to back up your contacts and apps before doing so it fresh installs your system.

what if i downloaded zip to another phones sd card and then put same sd in my phone?would that work?

Yeah, that should be perfectly fine. As long as you have the zip on an sd card in the phone, boot into recovery and run it. It'll be fine, no big deal. Doesn't matter what SD card you use.

ok now when i need to update from sd card,will i find that option on my phone or pc? in recovery mode an option is to update from external storage.is that it?

i put card with updated zip in my phone,went to recovery,clicked on update from external storage,but i dont see the file on the list it brings me to.i appologize for my lack of skills,i appreciate your help.anxious to hear from you again.i live in ca.whats a good time to b on this forum so we can chat.ty much

Did you keep the update zip in the main folder of your SD card so it is easier to locate? If recovery see's files on your SD Card then the zip should be there as well. You downloaded the ZTE_Avid_4G_SD_Card_Upgrade_-_ZIP_-_304MB.zip, correct? If so and if you did not rename it that exact file should be in the sd card provided you copied the file to the SD card successfully.

ok yesss i found it.now how do i run it?i pressed the power button after selecting it with vol.buttons,but nothing seems to happen.im gettin closer.hope to hear back from ya soon.ty

Move your volume keys up/down move to the update zip file and press your power button once it's highlighted, it should work just fine for you.

ok,after trial&error,mostly the later,i got it to install, it said finding,opening,verifing,installing,then last line saidinstall aborted,and sumthin bout a signature.imk so close.please bro help me do this last part,and my first born is yours..lol tyty

Try re-download and copy the zip to SD card again, maybe the one you have is corrupted somehow? Be sure you're using this zip not the modified one.

Anytime, I had to flash the update zip myself as I had messed with fonts trying to install Emoji as a system font, didn't work out ended up with my phone being stuck at the "Android" screen. But, glad you have your phone fixed! I'd suggest rooting and not doing any modifications until there is a CWM and custom roms on the way.
 
Is there gonna be a cwm so that we may install custom tomorrow.do u know anything bout jellybean upgrade for the avid.or USB m/s download.ty again.
