So jealous of you guys that got to see the staging site live and in person. By the time I got to see it the link was locked. Hope some good screenshots are on this thread. Damn having to train someone today. So can't check the thread. Will have 50 pages to go through when I get home.

The web page was not officially put up - it was either an accident or a controlled leak. Either way, while the date may be definite, they may not want to announce it just yet.I'm going to be the skeptic for a post...if the 29th is the day, then why did Verizon pull the web page?
On the optimistic side, VZW is f@#*!ng with us and it will actually be sooner.
Realistically, we just don't know.

I think he has sources..I don't think he is a minion, NKT is high on my minion list, and so are those three random people that posted almost the same exact thing asking if we saw the stage site was up. I was thinking more along the lines of vid or photos

I still believe verizon wants to keep their droid and eris sales up until it is released.

Even with the (sort of)confirmed date, I'm still F5ing for my 9hours a day.
It'll be like the end of the Truman show, where everyone just sort of..turns the TV off, and picks up a book...
...except ours will be a shiny new Incredible toy.

It is a staging server. Staging servers are not suppose to be public. It was either a mistake or a controlled leak.

and you forgot to tell this TD guy that who is the first country to offer assistance to people in trouble? HM doesnt sound to greedy for me, examples this one is part of our country but earthquakes in haiti who helped us, earthquakes in chilie as soon as it happened who offered help to the chilie government the USA so next time some foreigner comes in here and bad mouths are country, you can go F yourself, and you are probably one of these POS french people! goodbye

I disagree. Obviously someone was working on that page when we found it. When we all first went there it just said: Incredible. Then a few minutes later it said, "The saga contineus April 29". THEN if finally said "The saga continues April 29th" and the name changed from HTC Incredible to "Droid Incredible by HTC". THEN the site went behind closed doors. IMO someone was working on the website that is to be up and running in a few days and we caught them. They found out that we caught them by everyone entering their email and phone numbers. I just wonder how much more info we could have gotten if we'd waited to enter our info. The world may never know . . .

It was actually kind of exciting to see it changing from one thing to another...from "Coming soon, the HTC Incredible" to "The next chapter in the saga..." to "Coming April 29th the Droid Incredible"
It was kind of fun to see...since I usually catch this stuff late in the day...I was happy to be in the thick of it. But MAN it was quick...I'm absolutely down with people thinking that it was a controlled leak...I wonder how many hits they got during the brief time it was live...
I'm in software sales....if I spent as much time talking to customers as I do reading these posts I would be a very wealthy man.
Anyone want to buy some CAD software?

If you can see any of the screen shots on the thread above, you did not miss anything at all. I guess you could have "signed up" for a list that no one knows if is the official sign up for more information. I wouldn't worry about it!

I'll go with controlled leak...I'm a computer guy...for a big company like Verizon, you just don't make mistakes like that, they have procedures they follow, I'm sure of that.
I'm sure your right, but I would think that they would stand to make more in new Incredible sales\contract renewels than they would with Droid and Eris sales. Just a guess.

What I'm getting at is. If you judge Americans on their excitement for a device that demonstrates the ingenuity and "melting pot" characteristics of a diverse nation.... you're just being silly. I digress.
I wouldn't be so confident on a controlled leak. I've done plenty of consulting for large companies and it's very likely someone working on a *staging server* accidentally left it open.

So I've seen a lot of people posting replies and questions to things that were said several pages back and already addressed. I thought I'd share my technique for replying to people whenever I'm playing catch-up on a thread.
- Find a post you want to respond to.
- Open the post in a new tab. You can do this by middle-clicking the number at the top right of the post.
- Continue reading the thread, opening new tabs for each post you plan on replying to.
- Once you're at the end of the thread, go through the opened post tabs and close all of the ones that are no longer relevant.
- Go to the tab for a post you want to reply to and click
- Type your reply beneath the quote. Do not submit the reply.
- Go to each the next post tab and click the Quote button.
- Copy the quote text from the text area and paste it underneath your response in the first post tab.
- Provide a response for that.
- Repeat steps 7-9 until you've addressed all open tabs.
- Click "Submit Reply" and be happy that you've helped improve this beast of a thread!
