I am selling my droid right now while I can get some good money for it, then I'll go and get the new one online once its out :-D

Today is being a incredible day with all this news coming about our most wanted phone

So I have my son's phone which is has the NE2 on it sitting waiting for the 29th. I love him to death but a 12 year old is not getting sweetness like the droid? incredible. I have a bb 2 that at first was going to give to him. But don't really want to keep the bb fees. Ive looked on Ebay at used Driod's for him. Here's my question (I know about bad ESN's). Has anyone bought a phone from ebay before? Had any problems activating it with verizon?

Sort of an on-topic post for anyone that just wants to know a bit of useless information:

Because of the specs of the phone, I was curious about how the 1GHz processor, the 512MB (or 576MB) RAM, and 512MB ROM + 8GB moviNAND would stack-up compared to say...the Apollo spacecraft on-board computer system (The AGC) that took our astronauts to the moon.

The AGC is a piece of computing history. It had a 1MHz processor, 1K of random-access memory and 12K of read-only memory. By contrast, typical desktop computers today have about 1,000 times the processor speed and about 500,000 times the RAM, and have dropped ROM for hard drives with millions of times the capacity.

I think that definitely provides some perspective to what we will have in hand in just a couple of weeks!

Edit:
Translation: Droid Incredible contains 1000 times the processor speed, @525,000 times more RAM, and @44,000 times more ROM (not including the moviNAND)

You might try looking at your local Craigslist as well. You can meet the seller at a Verizon store to be sure that the phone is good.

So I've seen a lot of people posting replies and questions to things that were said several pages back and already addressed. I thought I'd share my technique for replying to people whenever I'm playing catch-up on a thread.

  1. Find a post you want to respond to.
  2. Open the post in a new tab. You can do this by middle-clicking the number at the top right of the post.
  3. Continue reading the thread, opening new tabs for each post you plan on replying to.
  4. Once you're at the end of the thread, go through the opened post tabs and close all of the ones that are no longer relevant.
  5. Go to the tab for a post you want to reply to and click
    quote.gif
  6. Type your reply beneath the quote. Do not submit the reply.
  7. Go to each the next post tab and click the Quote button.
  8. Copy the quote text from the text area and paste it underneath your response in the first post tab.
  9. Provide a response for that.
  10. Repeat steps 7-9 until you've addressed all open tabs.
  11. Click "Submit Reply" and be happy that you've helped improve this beast of a thread!
Just a suggestion that will make everyone's lives easier :o

Here's another alternative. Do all of the above (or variations as noted by others). Before you submit reply, critically review what you've written for value added to the discussion about the Incredible. That should allow folks to delete around 70-80% of their replies/posts.

If we all followed that advice (and I'm guilty too) we'd be at about 175-200 pages of really useful information instead of 711 and counting of mostly hopes, dreams, and wishful thinking. Not only that, but think of all the work that would have been accomplished across the country. LOL

PS: Oh yeah, and this post wouldn't be here either.

Hi, the manual file won't open. Acrobat says the file is damaged and cannot be repaired. How can I download a readable version, please?

Never bought at Best Buy before but I remember there were people with Droids unboxing and reviewing the phone before the VZ announced date. Someone said it's their policy to sell what they have when they get it so we'll have to ready for that eventuality.

I believe on the back it says with Google. It is a Google experience phone.

From my understanding, the only "Google Experience" phones are the ones running Stock android (Moto Droid, Samsung Moment, Nexus One...) Those with HTC Sense weren't considered Google Experience phones I don't think.

That was the looongest hour lol... I actually HAD to go to engadget, gizmodo and intomobile for my news... oh the shame!

BTW I'm in love with that red gradient case posted yesterday... wow! Anyone know (or I may have missed it reading 20+ pages a day) if the 2150 mAh battery and that gradient case are compatible? That would be sweeet!

OK. I was talking with my former college roommate last night. If VZW sometimes trains a day before release, what are the chances of VZW training Thursday and releasing Friday? Tomorrow the pre-order page could go up for a Friday delivery???? Just thinking out loud and hoping.

I'm thinking that since that page some of us had access to was asking to submit email addys to get info about pre-order info, that they would need to actually allow people time to do some pre-ordering.

Of course, with VZW these days, who knows

Hey Montana Man, I guess this means you'll be forced to slurp down soda with your dinner for a while, huh?:D

Dear Sir,

Please direct any future inquiries of said as-of-yet "unofficial and therefore unnannounced" name of a certain Verizon cellular handset device, along with any inquiries of fate of one said wine storage facility to my attorney, Mr. Kappy, who will be happy to assist you. No further comments will be made from the defendant, Mr. Montana Man, at this time. Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation in this highly sensitive matter.

Sincerely,

Mr. Montana Man

I thought that too but I remember reading something many many pages back where this was discussed.

I just checked and the Droid Eris and the Droid both say "with Google" on the back while the Devour only says MotoBlur.

So, I am sticking with my theory. ;)
