April 16th - Doesn't mean anything.

Pre release date - also inconsequential, your eligibility is flexible when your near your anniversary date.

Yeah, I just like the crazy graphic effects the HD2 has compared to the Android version of Sense UI. The Sense on the HD2 is much better than the TF3D the Touch Pro (1/2) had. You should take a look at a T-Mo store :D.

I see. Thanks for the input though. Really gives me a good idea of how much I'll like the phone.

You read my mind actually because I planned on going to a T-Mobile store to check the HD2 out this weekend...hahahaha.

I'm still going to say I bought a HTC Supersonic. EVO reminds me of an awesome car instead.

If you really think about it though, the EVO (car) is a high performing machine out of the box, just like the EVO (phone). Not only that, but the EVO (car) can be tuned to have even better performance and customization, just like the EVO (phone). :D

Hmmm, if Mitsubishi weren't hurting so bad, I'd say they should dump some money into a co-promotion with Sprint.

Buy an EVO X, get a HTC EVO for free! :D

There you go. You get the idea! Mitsubishi North America was here in Southern Cali (but I think it either shut down, or it's still just executives...can't remember).

But still a great way to generate some interest in both EVO's!

They are not really competing against their own products. There are a ton of people who will not switch carriers no matter what, even if the best phone in the world "EVO" comes out. Wether it is loyalty or they love the service or they are brainwashed it doesn't matter. So what HTC has done is position themselves on every carrier with several different level of phones running on 2 of the top platforms. It is not self competition it is freaking GENIUS!! They offer a phone for every different level of tech experienced customer on every carrier. This will in turn equal $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Agree. It's like Microsoft. Sure, they sell Windows and Apple likes to focus on the sort-of false dichotomy of Mac vs PC but as a software company, Microsoft stands to make way more money developing Windows to work on both Apple hardware as well as other brands of hardware. Likewise they make Office for Windows and Mac OS. As a software company, it makes sense to be able to sell their products to people regardless of their preferred platform.

Likewise, HTC is a phone maker. They want to sell phones and that's pretty much it. Android is a good partner in this since it is powerful, customizable, and free. Still, they get no such benefit from focusing on a particular carrier. They will sell more phones if there is an HTC device (or three) on any given carrier and they are seen as high end and desirable.

Verizon can create their "Droid" branding and add that nomenclature on all of their Android phones but HTC is focused on one thing and that is phones sold.

There are still places to get Mitsubishi's here in LA, you just gotta look! :D

LOL...Nah, I know. I live in West LA, so I know the ones that are still open.

But the actual Mitsu North America Corporate (not even named that anymore) was in, I want to say, Stanton....Somewhere in OC. I've been to quite a few M.O.D. (Mitsubishi Owners Day) events w/ friends, when they used to have them there.

So if anyone knows, has anyone heard anything on gaming development for the EVO? I saw a pic and vid with an EVO playing a motion based game. It looked like a racing game or something. Just want to know if there is any entertainment development. Here is the link

Yeah I did see that one. I guess it's a matter of Android supporting the right kind of access to the phone's GPU and supporting all the OpenGL or whatever libraries it uses. I'm not a huge arcade-type gamer on my phones but any development is good. I tend to play that stuff on my PC on the HDTV from my couch and on my phones I play more puzzle/time killer games. Improved graphics and eye candy in general is always good for all kinds of applications.

I don't know about you guys but I am not normally obsessed over a phone as much as I am over the EVO. I spend probably 6-8 hours looking at this forum a day. It's almost cruel to show us this really awesome phone and have all these advertisement everywhere, then turn around and say "wait till this summer". It's a catch "22" because I want the info ahead of time but I also want the phone soon after. I'm just being impatient I know.
