The folks on LTE are getting 3-4 times that easily. Depending on proximity to the tower and congestion levels, I think I've read about some people getting 50Mbps or close to it. I can't recall the exact number, but as you said, it's beyond useful.

50mb is stretching it but i have a Gnex in Chicago and I hit 30 on multiple occasions.

The highest I ever got on wimax was 10 megabytes per second. With 3 megabytes upload.

When I renewed my monthly on the site.. I saw it says theres a 2.5gb limit for non tethered users and 3.5 gb for tethered.. I know they dont just stop your service but Id be afraid to go much more than 4gb..

I was afraid to even tether at all! Lol. But the most I used was over 20gb one month. I have poor wimax signal and about medium 3g signal so I can't really use my phone for downloading big files. (don't have wifi in my mom's house either :/)

No companies throttle to make more money. Buddy is one in a million in between thousands of towers. Honestly if sprint isn't complaing u shouldn't either.

How does that work? Do they charge an extra $10 to lift the throttle? IMHO, throttling is how they preserve bandwidth, not make more money.
At least with VM, you can renew your month anytime, so if you've been throttled, and want full bandwidth, you can simply pay early. On a standard plan, I don't see how this would work. Do they charge overages? If they are charging overages, they wouldn't want to throttle. They would rather have you pay more, so they want you to use more.

Lol OK wording is wrong but I meant to say charge overages. And same thing goes if a company isn't complaing we shouldn't be either imho.

Problem? Wiimax is a dead network anyways due to no new wiimax phones being made anymore.

It doesnt matter if its a dead network or not. You still ruin it for others by not following the rules. Thats why they have to make these limitations.

Wimax is not getting money and expansion poured into it, but it will be around for a while, longer than the useful life of an Evo V 4G. Clear continues to sell USB dongles for use with notebook computers. It might not be as fast as 4G Lte, but it is fast enough for anything you need to do. I can get 28 Mbps at home from speed test on cable, but nothing will give me more than about 3 mbps on the server side.
Yeah, goofballs who use insane amounts of bandwidth don't help the rest of us today, but in a couple of years it will not matter because there will be more than enough bandwidth to go around. Just look at what T-Mobile is doing.

Why would they state that theres a 2.5gb limit for non tethered payers and a 3.5gb limit for tethered payers on their site, if its unlimited? They also state that they have the power to turn off your cell phone for good and deny you service in the future for not agreeing to their terms, Which is what will happen to you eventually when you get caught.
Yea I had this phone for a couple of weeks this month then went to verizon on straight talk.
The speeds are a big boost from any 3g connection.
Problems arise with Wimax when going indoors or many places dont have coverage were they say there is supposed to be Wimax 4g coverage.
I ditched it basically because the speeds were to inconsistent for me. And sprints 3g will not suite me when forced to 3g.
Also LTE is the future of sprints 4g and no longer Wimax. It would had been easier if they just choose phones compatible with both to sell. This phone isnt compatible with LTE.
