Thanks for all the info Jackson. I can't wait to find out when this phone comes out and pricing. I'm still thinking it's going to be a June release.

I agree. I think April 16th will be start of the marketing campaign. It lines up with everything.

The release date for the Incredible was just formally announced. Depending on how big their marketing blitz is, Sprint can steal SO many customers away from Verizon (that were going to buy the incredible) in a 2 week period, if they have a bonanza of TV/Internet/Radio ads going on.

Here's another thing to take into consideration. NHL Playoffs start today. NBA Playoffs start Saturday. T-Mobile has a partnership with the NBA, but they can't necessarily block the networks from selling ad time to Sprint. And what better time to put a marketing blitz out to the general consumer than during the playoffs for 2 major National sports!

Yeah, I'd say that all signs point towards the EVO being marketed heavily starting the 16th.

Oh, and I just looked at the calendar, and realized that Memorial Day is on May 31...Hmmm, I wonder if "early" release through certain sellers would actually happen. What better time than a 3 day weekend to release a phone of the EVO's caliber?
 
Not to be a negative Nancy, but I really doubt we'll find anything out on Friday. The whole 16th thing started as pure speculation based on a facebook posting and never had any real legs IMO.

The Sprint Facebook Event Page(where the April 16th date first surfaced) says 2 PM.

but jacksons source dan works for sprint and he said in the email that everyone is still working things out for it
 
ha well theres the email....

and i think sprint was trying to throw a bone at us, otherwise that group never would have had an end date with an exact end time of 2pm like it did...

LOL...So Jackson, since we've spoken privately before and you know what I do, you think my assessment was pretty accurate with regards to the media blitz?
 
yeah what we were talking about was right on. BTW did some digging, real deep digging just for you bud =], and that company of yours has a ton of these bad boys ordered hahahahaha

Yeah Drex, you guys are schedled to get them earlier than the rest of us too. I filled Dan in on who you were and what not so he could help us. I figured you wouldn't mind. But yeah those Evo's will get there soon in a little over a month. Maybe theres a deal between both compaines?
