Works perfectly for me because I set up a quick access widget using Widgetsoid, so I just toggle the proper settings for car, home, work, or public. You can create your own profiles as needed. It's very simple to use and gets the job done.

I can only speak for the Sprint version, as I know this is part of Sprint's plan to have people connected to the optimal connection, but there's a setting called "Connection Optimizer" that automatically turns wifi on, even if you've toggled it off. I've unchecked that to turn on, so that I have control of when the wifi antenna is turned on/off. I seen people from other providers mention something similar, but I don't know if they have the capability to turn that off.

Which is great for a free tool but I kind of prefered smart actions that came free with driod razr.

I haven't tried tasker - others (as you note in this thread) have good things to say but I'm kind of reluctant to pay for a tool without a better understanding of how to use it and what it can do.

Question is, will he remember. I believe that is his concern, not the physical effort to turn it off.
