Help Note 2 WIFI question

Roadstar

Newbie
My phone shows good signal strength on the wifi connection, however, it will not get internet, etc.
Is there some other setting I am missing?

Are you sure the wifi connection its connected to has Internet access (eg trying with a laptop)? Sometimes a wifi connection will have 'limited' access.

I posed a similar question and got the same lame responses. No offense. The wifi card on this phone and my old GS3 sucks. I can stand 10 feet from my router and still not get full bars and it buffers. However, I stand the same distance with my iPad 3 or my iPod touch 5th gen and get full bars and no buffering. I listened to the feedback and adjusted my router, which I knew wouldn't help, and still crappy signal.

Great phone, crappy wifi card.

Unfortunately, that is not what OP question was about. Read his post again.

first things first - are you talking about the wifi router at home? Of course, most routers have a password, so dumb question - have you typed the password for your router into your phone? Once you've done that, the phone should be able to detect your router and link right up, but sometimes they don't, so go to WIFI in the settings menu, and make sure the phone is seeing your router...

Also, don't be afraid to call tech support through your service provider. They should be able to help you quickly.... good luck!

Yeah, it's usually a setting in the router that is causing this. It's usually dependent on how the router is setup as well as the security. Also if you have a modem/router hooked up to another router, that can be equally bad. You need to disable the router in the modem to prevent conflicts.
