Just got the S2 and having problems...

I'm coming off the ZTE Warp Sequent so I got used to that phone...

1. Can't connect to 4g and I'm in a 4G area. (or it's very slow if connected)
2. Can't seem to focus clearly on close up shots (maybe lighting issue?)
3. Wifi is slow
4. How do I upgrade to jelly bean? Do I need to root it?
5. There's a lot of distortion in 1080p compared to 720p (which I was hoping to record in 1080p)
6. music stops playing when having the phone upside down... I put it upside down so the speaker is facing up and I can listen to music at work.
7. Installed flash but it doesn't seem to work?

I'll edit or post more later after I think of the other things.

To upgrade to Jellybean, do not root your phone. If you root your phone then try to upgrade it, there's a good chance you'll brick your phone.
Just plug it into your computer and download Kies Air. When the program recognizes your phone, it will automatically tell you that a software update is available. Just follow the steps and you should be good to go.

When recording in 1080p, it seems to look "zoomed in" so it seems like the recording quality is worse than 720p. However, when viewing from a computer, it looks higher quality.

Also Try to remember that the phone's screen is not 1080, it is 800 by 480.
download Kies and install it before connecting your phone to the computer. Then once you connect Kies can upgrade you to JB

I viewed it from my computer and it still looks like a lot of distortion... maybe it's because I recorded in bad lighting than outside?

I seen some good videos where people recorded in the dark or at night and things looked fine..

Get a different music player from the Play market. As far as I know Flash is not supported on the S2. Good luck with 4G. Are you sure your area has WiMAX?

I'm not too sure then. Try a different camera app and see if the problem insists.

It is, just not the latest version that is on computers. Adobe said they're going to stop the development of Flash player for Android and they even took it out of the play store.
This video shows you how to get it on your phone. (Works with android versions up to Jellybean).
However, even if you install Flash, it won't work on the Chrome browser. It does work with the stock browser though.

Flash works with the S2 but with JB you have to jump through a couple hoops to get it setup. Flash is not supported officially for Jellybean, but the funny part is that Google's YouTube player has it internally.

I have flash working well and am using it with Dolphin (I posted a thread on doing that a good while back) For Music I find that ES file manager has a music player in it that works well.
