How do I separate ringtones from music

I just received my first ever smartphone and it's an LG Spectrum 2. My previous phone was an LG Versa and my provider is Verizon. The ringtones I had on my old phone were from Phone Zoo. I reloaded them on my new phone and they are in my music player app. My question is how do I isolate them, move them, or make a folder for them so they are only recognized as ringtones and not as music? I want to eventually download music, however, I am entirely lost and in need of help.

Try putting them in a folder on your sd card named ringtones.

+1.

You may have to capitalize the "R"...Ringtones. Seems like I remember that being a snag but its been awhile. You can also make a folder for Notifications if you have some shorter sounds you want to show up in notifications dropdowns but not ringtones or vice versa.

Grab yourself a free app called EStrongs File Manager.

It will open to your /sdcard folder, right where you need to be.

Menu, new, folder, call it Ringtones

Ok to surf over to a tune and long press, choose to copy or move to the new Ringtones folder.

See if it works, if not, give Rings Extended a try, I've used that myself.
