I have a LG Voyager in my cellular stash!! Can you elaborate on how I will get away with not paying retail for the Incredible?

its all the same
if your on a single line and your paying the min you will have to pay more a month because of family plan plus the $10 a month for the second line

I know this is off topic, but I was just thinking that I didn't get my first cell phone till I was 18 yrs old. Now my daughter is only 14, and she is on her 3rd phone, and it is a smartphone. The Incredible will be my first smartphone, how can my 14 yr old beat me to the smartphone world.

How did she get that smartphone? If she had the resources to do it all by herself, then more power to her! I'll pay her to give my kids a motivational speech. If not, well, daughters have an amazing capacity to convince dads and moms that they NEED something, rather than just WANTing it.

So they have taken away the 802.11n standard, huh? Is this launch guide considered to be 100% accurate?

We gonna see any videos of the phone before release or since its been announced there will be no more info on here till its released?

Being in the PR/Marketing business I would guess those with phones will have the embargo lifted on the 19th so we will start to see hands on reviews and videos at that time.

wives have a tendency to do that too.:o

To everyone interested in switching to a 1-year contract for the Incredible:

I just called VZW and he said I would retain my existing NE2 credit for this purchase, I just wouldn't be eligible for the NE2 again in the future.

So for me (who still has a $100 NE2 credit), assuming the phone is like $369 1-year price, it'd be 369-100(instant online rebate)-100 (NE2)=$169.

Thought this was nice to pass along for people who want to switch to 1-year (A VERY GOOD IDEA TO CONSIDER SINCE THERE WILL LIKELY BE LTE PHONES NEXT YEAR!!!)

I was under impression that we already knew the pricing - $199 with a 2 year agreement and a $100 mail-in rebate.

So $300 up front, really - if I'm wrong here someone jump in and correct me

Although if you get the Inc on a new line you should get the new 2 year contract price which will be $299 + hopefully the $100 rebate.

Right but there has been some debate over whether you are still eligible for a NE2 discount when switching from a 2-year to a 1-year contract.

Hello all, after lurking for a few days I finally decided to come on here cause I decided I am getting this phone. After my voyager cracked and now I am using my old Razr I need a incredible phone :D But anyways my parents have a family plan and they are eligible for early upgrade so we are going to preorder the phone most likely cause you dont have to do that rebate stuff. So they are giving me the phone cause they don't need one and the question is when i preorder it does anyone know if you have to renew the contract right there or can you just get the phone and pay the 199 on the credit card and bring it to the vzw store to get it activated. Not really sure I never brought a phone online before thanks a lot.

You ended on the answer...pre sale is pre order

How does a BBY "Pre-Sale" work.

If I buy the phone "pre-sale" at one BBY, can I then take that receipt to another BBY to claim the phone?

Do they allow phones that are "pre-sold" to be shipped for home delivery?

If you don't have an existing agreement with Verizon, will the pre-sale be available - or can you activate a VZW plan after purchase?

I ask because i'm headed up to my parents house for my birthday, and they have a BBY 2 miles down the road.

I guess I could just ask them to fork over the $300 so I can go get it myself, but that seems kinda tacky.

I will tell you that as soon as seidio makes there extended battery I am gettng it as I am running an Eris that is running 2.1 and it eats the battery fast and the Eros has 1/2 the processor that
the incredible has

I don't know about Amazon, but the BB insurance plan does not cover lost phones. That just about seals it for me.

Yeah, I think Best Buy doesn't want to be scammed by someone saying they just lost the phone so they can give their friend one, BB can't lock an ESN. Even the Protection Plan we sell(I work at a Prem Retailer, not BB) makes you jump through hoops if you lost it. They'd like you to get a police report if you claim your phone is lost or stolen, if you can't get a report they ask you to fill out some form. If your phone is broken they also request you send them the broken phone back so they can verify it was actually broken and you aren't just trying to get another phone.

so what is the downside of buying thru BB? and how much does their insurance cost?

from what it seems it doesnt make much sense to buy thru verizon. you have to mail out your rebate and wait for the hundred bucks unlike BB. if somethin goes wrong they give u refubished whereas best buy will give u a brand new phone provided its under factory warranty.

You ended on the answer...pre sale is pre order

ME: Hi,

if i pre-order an HTC Incredible on Sunday at one of your stores, when will i receive it? Also, will there be any additional fees, such as an activation fee added onto the 199$ price?

HIM: Paul,

Thank you for contacting Best Buy Mobile. My name is xxx, and I will be assisting you with this inquiry.

I'm currently in the process of verifying whether it's a pre-sale or a pre-order. If it's a pre-sale, which means we would be selling it prior to Verizon getting it, you would be able to leave with it on Sunday. If it's a pre-order, you would have to pick it up at a later date (probably the 29th, the same as Verizon).

My recommendation would be to call your local store and ask them. Since it is an in-store only event, they would have the most up-to-date information.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email, or call 1-888-BESTBUY and ask for the mobile department.

Sincerely,
xxxxxxxx

on the website it clearly sales pre-sale on sunday.
So in bestbuy world, presale means pre-sale

When it comes via FedEx (because you will want it as soon as you can) there will be a phone number to call and they will activate it for you over the phone.

Taken away from what? Where? Who? How? Just because somebody speculated it might be there doesn't mean it ever was. And if it wasn't, it couldn't be taken away. People get too wrapped up in the hype and gossip.

Don't feel cheated by something that was never real. I'm surprised some people here ever lived past finding out the Easter Bunny wasn't real.

Not sure of all the answers here but one of the screen shots from BBYs system said "no home delivery"

Am I an idiot or did everyone not see this link yet? It clearly states a PRE-SALE at bestbuy on Sunday: Top Mobile Devices | Best Buy Mobile: everything mobile - every point of view

I'm sorry if everyone already knew this, but it sounded like you all would be waiting till the 29th....? when you could be getting it this weekend...but maybe i'm mistaken and bestbuy presale just means preorder it..

Good catch!!! Looked at it hours ago and thought it was a pre-order like verizon online, but a PRE-SALE
