Have you used root explorer to extract .zip files? It's worked for me before

Use the app unzip by (apkinstaller.com) from the playstore

I don't think its any apps that may correct this i have had a problem like this check to see if u have download the data . For some reason my phone say i got the zip download and show mb but when i open the zip nothing . Funny thing when i download from my dropbox its quick and all the data is there . So check to see if u can download it again ..
