Is their an App to get around that or would you have to root? Or is it not possible?
I don't believe it is possible as I think NKT said the headphones are there to act as antennas as there is no internal one.

With my current Treo 700 I have never shut it off to charge and I never stray too far from a charger either! My battery has been going strong for over 2 years now!
I'm going with the 1 year contract and price. Never again will I get stuck in a 2 year contract. I mean the phone is obsolete in 8 months anyways. Thanks, will do! I'm not payin' $550 outright, but I'd pay like $269 if the 1 year ends up being $70 more than the 2 year price.
Actually, if what you are saying is true, it could be - $369 1 year price - $100 online/mail-in rebate - my $50 = $219. vs $150 on a NE2 contract.
Thank you. I guess I can only hope that swype goes into full release then, asap.![]()
I assume you signed a one year contract since you're saying you're eligable this August? The upgade eligability is actually 11 months for a one year contract, so you'd really only be officially waiting until September.
Having said that, Best Buy can't touch your upgrade dates. They're very clear that if those dates are going to be fudged that'll happen from VZW and VZW alone. I'd recommend walking into a store, personally; but you're probably not going to have much/any luck with that until July at the absolute earliest (and that's really pushing it). Sorry for the overall bad news.
You may want to consider opening a second line and paying an additional $40 (as opposed to $30 [if you don't have a smartphone at this point]) a month if you just can't wait.
If your buy online are you able to take phone into a verizon store to have contacts transferred. thanks

When I got the first Storm (ugh) I worked with a Verizon rep who helped me get the phone at a new contract price instead of the whole retail price (I wasnt due for an upgrade for another month or two). So talk to the reps and hopefully you find one thats willing to help you out.Ok so here's a great question. I have only been on Verizon since last August, and I'm not due to upgrade until this August (obviously). Would Best Buy help me finagle an upgrade or would I have more luck begging a VZW rep over thephone? Also, when can I start begging a VZW rep over the phone?
No problem, happy to helpTHANK YOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!!! I d/l it to my Lappy in case they close the link between now and then.![]()

It's actually a two year but my best friend was able to get the droid and he was in the exact same boat as me.
If I write up a sale at my company, we call it a sales ORDER. See they use the word orders. So I take it that you will not be going home with your phone that day.![]()
I havent heard about spending a certain amount on service before. But I have a My Verizon acct and the primary line and due for NE2, so I cant see a reason why I wouldnt be able to get the phone on a 1 year contract.I'm not entirely sure what the requirements are for this, but even though I'm under a two year contract, I'm eligible for an annual upgrade. I think you have to spend above a certain amount on your service and have a My Verizon account if I remember correctly. Also, it's only valid on the primary line.
Actually, 2.0+
I wouldnt count out Wi-Fi N just yet.....![]()

Well nobody else said anything so i guess i will.
What exactly do you mean about the Wi-Fi N?
Care to enlighten us?
Since we have about 2 weeks (seems like we can never rid that term) of waiting left, I've decided to use my time in a couple of different was. 1) to say my long-awaited goodbyes to my BB Storm; 2) since Android is new to me, to start researching applications that I want to download to the Incredible once I get it in my hands the 29th.
I have started a thread where those interested might be able to find that information in a centralized area within our community:

2 minutes from the N. Olmsted store... I'll be there at opening on Sunday and give you guys the scoop as soon as I get home... I'll give you the scoop via the Incredible if it's available to take home at that timeya, the Steelyard / parma/ N Olmstead stores show they have BB mobile inside the store also....
'N" is the current "fastest" wifi protocol.
it hasn't completely replaced "G" yet but its getting there.
