Help Windows 8 won't install LG Driver

So whenever I plug my LG spirit into the USB on my laptop it never installs the driver. Something will pop up on the side asking what I want to do and I'll click on run and install, then a box will pop up as if it's installing it but when I open My Computer, there is no driver showing up. Because of this I can't import music or any kind of files into my SD card. I've been using an SD card adapter lol I used my friends laptop (which is windows 7) and it was able to find the driver and I was finally able to root my phone. Any ideas why this is?? Thanks :)
 
Check out my video on the "all things root side". Its a how to root video, but it has direct link to LG drivers that you need. I do the entire rooting process from my Win 8 laptop in the video.
 
The issue is probably the fact you need to have MTP selected in the PC connection tab of your phones settings, That's how you get it to download drivers for you. It takes a long ass time.

I tried selecting the MTP, and it didn't work but I will check out your video :)
