Shopped!!! lol, actually in many ways it is, because it's an internal training CBT so we'll cut them some slack.

Everyone that's talking about Swype, it's still available for download from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?rnmfvnymhym. I just reinstalled it on Saturday after I installed 2.1 on my Eris.

Not sure if this still holds true, but for those of you on a family share plan looking to use an alternate line, e.g., your daughter's, to upgraqde your line by ordering the phone online and then activating it at home. I have done this before and I had to activate the new phone on her number then after midnight I could switch the phone to my number. I did this and it was easy but originaly the phone had to be activated on the number it was ordered for unlike when you do this in the store.

Any verizon reps can clarify?

The only thing I think you need to be wary of is the data plan. If both phones have the data plan, no problem, but if you were planning to have only one data plan in the family I would be very careful about activating that phone. You don't want to be stuck with two data plans if you really only wanted one. I don't know whether the data plans are associated with the phone or the line.
 
So since we all know release dates / pricing etc... what apps does everyone have planned to instantly install into their incredible? This will be my first smart phone and I've been looking through some of the app sites and its a bit overwhelming...I want everything and at the same time I keep saying 'doesnt the phone already have/do that'

Do you think you could get any of your informants (that has the phone in hand) to get us some more pictures in the wild? I'm dying to see more pics of this thing, not just renderings I keep seeing.

And for anyone here that's been here for a long time, I want to see it with a pop can and a tv remote in frame ;-)

I actually did this on my family share plan two years ago with my Omnia. I activated it on a secondary line. I think you have to wait 24hrs to then do the old switch-a-roo but it worked fine and was able to use it as my primary phone.

Here is Motley Fool's opinion on why Verizon will not be marketing this phone very hard:

But Motorola will still be very good friends with Verizon for a while beyond the Droid Incredible launch. I don't think Verizon will put serious marketing muscle behind this model, because I don't believe that HTC can supply the network with millions and millions of these phones.
The bottleneck lies in the Droid Incredible's OLED screen. That component is a real selling point for this phone and others, but the technology is not yet ready for prime time. OLED technology from Universal Display(Nasdaq: PANL) and others is coming of age right about now, but screen manufacturers like Samsung Display still need to build out their manufacturing lines to keep up with growing demand. Besides, while a nice step forward, the HTC doesn't present nearly the incremental jump that the Droid provided over previous Verizon offerings.
If HTC can't easily order as many OLED screens as it wants, then Verizon can't push its marketing very hard. Nobody looks good when your best gadget is unavailable for weeks or months at a time, and Verizon is doing alright with Motorola's Droid anyway. I'm drooling uncontrollably over the Droid Incredible and might pick one up for myself, but just like the Nexus One I don't think this will be a big seller.

I'm with you, i really don't understand this person's motivation at all...i've NEVER had any sort of "run in" with them, but they absolutely hate me. You should have seen some of the ridiculous stuff that was being said about me not to mention the pure inappropriate language and spamming...i just don't get it. Anyways, i have no problems talking to that person and figuring out what is causing all the anger and hatred...i'm sure they know how to get a hold of me if they want to have a dialoge.:confused:

I've got to say, I don't understand how the whole idea of walking out of a Best Buy with an Incredible in hand on the 19th gained any steam at all. Is'nt it very well established that these phones aren't even being shipped yet? I'm pretty sure the stores will be recieving them on the 25th and even with that they are supposed to be really heavily locked down until release day. So unless you get lucky and happy to get someone incompetant enough to sell you something on lockdown, you're just going to have to wait with the rest of the country for it to come out on the 29th.

That's alright though. Come May, this whole waiting game will just be a happy little memory, right? I know I'll look back on it fondly, regardless of how torturous it was. :)

People are just jealous of the position you have been in being the 'first to know' with Incredible information. They just don't know how to deal with their jealously and take it out on you in the form of anger and immaturity.
