Ordered from Sprint on 4/5, got my tracking # early this morning, but so far the delivery date hasn't been updated on the UPS site; the shipping confirmation from Sprint does say next day air, however, so I'd assume that this should change shortly and I'll get the phone by EOD tomorrow. (I hope!)

Two reasons I stopped doing this:
1) I have been screwed by stores in the past by them not having enough stock or getting it in around the same time I would have via UPS
2) BestBuy and the Sprint Stores have a nasty habit of unpacking and touching the device first. No one is touching it before me!

Edit: adding a third reason.
3) In the past I have been through some long waits on activation in Stores. I would much rather if there is a problem to deal with it from the comfort of my own home.
 
Pre order guarantees you get a phone on launch. Nothing else is promised or implied.

Sik is right, going up to best buy and having the clerk open up My PHONE!! First before me is something I don't care for. I much rather pre-order online and get it in my hands first!

Plus I dont have to take off to go stand in line waiting.... I did that with the first Evo and never did it again...

I agree with the first point, you definitely run that chance. But some people here with a pre order won't get their phone until Monday...so there is a chance there as well. Plus I personally don't live in a big city so there is a small chance of that happening to me in store if I get there when they open.

In any event....I cannot wait to get this awesome phone!

However, ETA varied depending on which of 3 shipping options chosen.

FREE SHIPPING: Up to 5 days after release.

PRIORITY (?) : 2-3 Days after release

EXPRESS : DAY of release or the following day.

Nothing wrong w/saving some $ on delivery charges,considering how much these phones cost.

Main reason I chose Express was to narrow the delivery window, not necessarily for quicker delivery,as I'll be @ home anyway for the Express window of delivery & not so w/standard delivery.
 
If you ordered before the 16th I'm certain you will get your device on Friday if you're on Sprint. The ups site will update throughout the day. Many have seen that generic Monday deliver date only to see it changed /updated to overnight delivery.

I'm envious, seriously. :p:D

I clearly remember the excitement we shared when the LTEvo dropped. I really hope all of yinz get the One on time. :)

Phone arrived @ 11 AM, I was working and got around to getting it activated around 2. I stole my wife's upgrade so had to make a phone call to activate.

The Charger/Dock and Media Link all arrived today also.
I love it when a plan comes together :)

Seems lately no matter what I order they feel inclined to include company stickers. I'm running out of places on my computer tower for all theM. The latest stickers came from LG.

Well I still have a tracking #, but I went from having a delivery date of (EOD Monday) to not having any info again in the UPS system except that the shipping label has been created. My guess is there's some UPS issues going on behind the scenes.

So there is still hope for the phones to be in our hands tomorrow rather than monday :)
