I looked at all the root guides in that one thread, but im not sure if they are good for my elite now. Just because they haven't been updated in a while. Which method has worked for people and could you guide me?

Yeah, the poot method lol after you have succeeded in that, if you want custom recovery to flash roms the check out artines thread and use the cwm noob installer

All three still work fine, lol. With my first Elite, I used jcase's method, my second Elite I think I used either Hashtag's or giantpune's, and for sure with my most recent one I used giantpune's. They all work fine still, and they all work equally well

Of the three, I would agree that giantpune's is by far the easiest to use. Jcase's is also arguably the most thorough, since it is a whole firmware flash using a security exploit. Lol.
