Can I get odds on Steven58's Alzheimer's kicking in right after post 1999 and him posting something totally inconsequential for number 2000?

:D j/k, love ya, old man ;)

Good question.

I am traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands in a month and want to know if i am going to get whored with roaming charges.

Has anyone had experience travelling there with verizon?

I went to BVI (British Virgin Islands) in Oct 2009. Great Verizon coverage compared to my friends AT&T coverage. Texts going out were 50 cents a text and .05 cents incoming. Don't exactly remember what outbound calls cost but were not cheap. I think $2-3 a minute. Another friend bought a prepaid phone and routed all calls from his cell to it, i guess it depends on how long your going to be their. Hope this helps.

No Offense meant, but I was on the chat channel for a while last night and you can't get a word in or follow a conversation on there. There was way too many people posting that made it almost impossible to follow one thought.

I'm sure it was just me though! :D

none taken...it's not for everyone. It has also calmed down substantially...people are over their jitters and acid-trip chatting. Feel free to pop in and out as you feel like it. Like i said, definitely not a substitute for forum...just an alternative. take care.

I believe the Motorola Devour supports it and it runs on the Android OS, but it works through an app that comes with the Devour not sure if it's available on the Android Marketplace.

I'm sure some bright young soul around here will figure out how to port that (or a similar app) over to be used on the Incredible.

I don't think this is quite what Kappy was talking about. He was asking about BT in particular and what you posted is still reliant on Wifi. Video pushing via Wifi would be great, but I don't think it will be a reality on the Incredible for two main reasons:

1. They want to sell AV cables. Wireless transmission = no need for AV cables.

2. The Incredible only has b/g wireless. If you notice, on the bottom of the page you posted they are selling wireless n routers. To my knowledge, you really need wireless n to be able to stream full 720p over wifi simply because of the huge amount of data being transmitted.

Just my $.02
Yes, I understand that HD wouldn't work over B or G wireless, and yes what I posted was Wifi and not bluetooth, which is why I said SIMILAR technology is out there... he did, however, just ask about the TV out, not HD out. SD would potentially work over wireless G or bluetooth, wouldn't it?

They could sell a $20 set of AV cables, but instead they could sell a $150 Wifi/Bluetooth INCREDIBLE receiver.

Just thinking outside of the box a bit... ;)

Ive done 720p over Wireless G without issue, have done 1080p as well but that has to buffer sometimes.

Yeah, considering you can upgrade every year with 2 yr pricing if you're the main line or on a single plan, i don't see why you wouldn't keep extending it if you didn't plan on leaving verizon.
I've always kept a second line on the "Loyalty Plan" that was set up a while back so that I always have a number close to upgrade. It's worked for me.

Doubtful, given that the release packet shows this:

These are standard RCA plugs. You will be getting no high-def goodness out of these - at least not to whatever display you are connecting to. You could potentially record video at 720p and have it restricted to the phone, but given that the phone has TV out functionality, this seems unlikely. I know people have said that we might get 720p recording with a firmware upgrade, and they may be right. BUT if we want to send 720p video to an external display, it will not be by firmware update only. VZW will also have to release a hardware upgrade - that is, a cable with one end being a 3.5mm headphone jack and one end being either composite video or HDMI (the latter of these two options seems particularly unlikely).

For now, the cables shown above have us sitting on 480, people. And unless I missed it, these were the only cables capable of AV transmission.

Be happy we have TV Out. That fact alone automatically makes the Incredible superior to 99% of devices out there.:D

Yeah, if the phone could at some point record 720p, you'd have to then copy that video to a PC or something that could then output at that res.
It'll still be interesting to see if someone can do a rom or firmware update that will allow it. :)

You know, here is another thing I haven't seen anyone mention, and why I don't think the concept is particularly viable yet...courtesy of wikipedia:

"...a 32 GB CompactFlash card is good for 72 minutes of HDV video"

Seems like a decent amount, until you factor in music, photos, other multi-media that most folks keep on their phones all the time. Just more food for thought.

VERY good point, sir.

How come your post count shows "1999" in three different posts?

Nevermind, I figured it out! DUHHH
It will always show his CURRENT post count, not which number it was when he posted it, so when he has 2999 posts total, that's what it will show on all posts, even his first post ever.

It's simply a running total on the left hand side which is more of a profile area.
