I keep thinking back to that FB event.. I got to believe something will be announced today. There is over a 1000 ppl currently attending and its sprint's offical FB page.. so they know ppl are expecting something in IMO.

Cool - Thanks. Now let's just see if it works!

Two thumbs up. Pitch it to Dan Hesse, now!

Oh how the tables have turned...the EVO gets announced first, Incredible gets no love at CTIA. Then Incredible gets an earlier release date official announcement (LESS THAN 2 WEEKS!!) and we're waiting for a media blitz that doesnt even guarantee a release date. LOL how ironic! I hope this thread doesnt get as ugly as the Incredible thread a few weeks ago. Don't worry guys...news or not. We'll still have the cream of the crop

We might not get everything we want right now, but let's NOT let it get ugly. Please!! June 13th isn't that far away! (I keep hoping Jackson was misinformed on that date, but I'll take it).

Even if nothing happens today in "Summer 2010", were gonna get a sweet phone and laugh at all the other carriers that rushed the "competition". I've been waiting for a new phone since 2007 and a few more months isn't bad.

2pm eastern or central(KS)?

I'm guessing Eastern... Since the Facebook group said March 23rd and 2 PM, which is the exact time the CTIA exhibit floor opened up and people first saw the EVO at the HTC booth. (Although they had a sheet covering it for a couple more hours, Sprint didn't know they were going to hide it..). And the Facebook group said today at 2 PM, likely also Eastern time. So I'm guessing in about half an hour we'll get some new infos.

+1, Bill. There is a very real possibility that Jackson is misinformed on a few things, as well as his "source" Dan.

Let's not pretend for one min. that the brass at Sprint are not aware of forums and blogs like this one. They might intentionally "leak" info to keep all of us guessing the truth.

Remember, Jackson is simply RELAYING info...he's not sitting on the Sprint board of directors. For better or worse, if Jackson's info is right or wrong, he keeps us holding onto some glimmer of hope that we will know something about the EVO before the general public. That alone is priceless.

Well I saw this scenario between the Incredible and Supersonic coming a while back. Verizon knew sprint would unveil the supersonic at ctia and they knew their device was under-specced compared to it, so they didn't show it so it wouldn't pale in comparison. But they get the upper hand anyway because their device was closer to release at the time so they could announce it later with less waiting time before customers can buy it. With the incredible coming out first, I don't see many verizon customers switching to sprint in order to get a 4.3" screen, FFC, and 4g, they're too cocky and proud about verizon's coverage and they'll justify the differences in the devices somehow. The screen size is what matters to me though, 3.7" to 4.3" is actually a big difference and it's going to be awesome!

Check this out, it shows all the devices that have that processor (click on button towards bottom):

It says the incredible will be released before the EVO. I suspected this when there was no info about the Incredible at CTIA. I think Verizon didn't want to compete for attention with the EVO which is better specced, and that they planned on waiting to announce the Incredible when it's ready to ship a few days later.

Doesn't matter to me at all, but it does seem a little foolish to brag about how the EVO was announced and VW loyalists got burned, when they could actually get their sought after device before we do with less wait after the unveiling. We'll just have to wait and see.

Good post.

Like a few others have mentioned, we shouldn't get too ahead of ourselves.

A good motto that comes to mind is 'Hope for the best, but expect the worst'. I don't expect anything to leak today, but why really worry too much about it? We know the phone is coming, it is not some uncertainty and a lack of any leaks does not change that fact.

I've been waiting for this phone since very vague rumblings surfaced around early February, the wait has felt intolerable sometimes, but just knowing the phone had been officially announced and detailed in good detail has made me more patient.

Anyway, moral of the story is, the phone is definitely coming, so don't stress out too much!

Also remember, the longer it takes to come out, the higher the chances of it being near perfect when it does indeed finally release.

It's akin to video game development, delayed games tend to be the most polished, enjoyable experiences in comparison to any rushed product.

Well, it's 2:00 pm Eastern and I haven't seen the rocket's red glare, or the bombs bursting in air. Has anyone else?
