Help Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean problems

stbiggles

Newbie
Since the JB upgrade I have had numerous annoying problems. Most of those have now been fixed (or fudged) but now my in-car bluetooth handsfree has stopped working. It appears to pair and connect OK but as soon as I make a call the connection drops. the phone says it is still connected, the car says it isn't. If I try to reconnect through the car system it tells me the phone is not available.

Completely and utterly sick of Jelly Bean. Don't know anything about rooting or flashing ROM but is there some way I can get back to an operating system that actually functions! JB has taken my beautiful phone and turned it into a semi-useless brick!!!

Just a few questions stbiggles...

Which version of Jelly Bean are you running on, (see #1.9, here)?

Was your update via Kies, OTA or Odin?

Did you do a, "vanilla" install as described in #1.2, here.

Have you tried a Factory Reset since updating as described, here?

hi Ironass,
Original update was OTA then when I had probs ran full factory reset, reinstalled apps and syncd Google. Don't know what Vanilla is. Version shows on phone as 4.1.2

Did you check that it was OK after the Factory Reset, including Internal and External memories, and prior to installing your app's, etc:?

Vanilla install is described in the link I posted earlier.

All the JB updates for the SGSII are 4.1.2 mate. I meant the JB version as described in my earlier link.

It is beginning to sound as though you may have received a corrupted, OTA, update... quite common with OTA updates as mentioned in my earlier link, and you may need to re-flash your firmware, see here, as you appear to have multiple problems.

LSD is considered to be a very stable and reliable version of JB and is the one most widely available at the moment. Unless there are any problems with the Three version of it that I am unaware of, you have should have no problems with it.

That's good news but what do you suggest next, get firmware flashed? Phone is on contract so may just send the damn thing back!
