Application Data Size, Especially Twitter.

I recently deleted the cache for my Twitter App, I use the latest version 4.0.1 on my Samsung Phone, I also un-installed it and re-installed.

My question is, since I deleted the cache it's size of the cache remains at 0.00B, is this normal?

Also is it normal for apps like this that every-time you use them the size rises when checking in Settings - Applications - Twitter, but cache stays the same?

I am curious to know if old data will get auto removed after a while as surely it can't just keep rinsing in size.

I see that any app that requires access to the internet will add data.

Will I therefore be required to periodically manually have to delete data from the Twitter App?

Cache= temporary data.
Cache data is saved into the phone only to allow you to start the app from the last time you used it...
There is no need to delete the cache from the app. As it will delete and replace itself over and over again for optimal use.
Example:
If you manually delete the cache from the Twitter app.
You will make the app to take longer to load the next time you use it.
Leaving the cache alone makes the app faster to load. And smoother to use.
Hope this explanation can enlighten your quest.
Regards

I understand, but my next question is since I had already deleted the Twitter cache...why is it that it's cache has remained at 0.00B ever since?

I forgot to add something that may help in the answer.

I had deleted the Twitter App after I had deleted it's data and cache, I then had re-installed it, and it is in this current state at the moment.

Would what I had done be the reason why it's cache still shows at 0.00B since?

This was done some days ago and not just now.

Here is what it has currently in manage applications for Twitter.

Total..............15.06MB
Application......10.59MB
Data...............4.47MB
Cache...............0.00B

Each time I use Twitter the Total and Data can go up or down but the cache always remains at 0.00B, is this normal?

And also does the Android always keep the Total to a minimum as I wondered if I would ever be required to delete the Data to keep the space low, or does Android to this automatically to keep space at a minimum?

I use the leatest version of Twitter which is 4.0.1

The Application......10.59MB stays the same.

And the Twitter App was installed thru Google Play store, phone isn't rooted.

I have no idea why your cache remains empty.
But yes.
Android is auto-sufficient .
Meaning, it manages itself.
You don't need to interfere with it.

Android sometimes starts apps in the background and stops them all to keep the phone crispy and fast.
If memory goes low it will automatically change and adjust for optimal use.
You don't need to worry about it.
Just enjoy.

The reason I performed those actions was that I was having issues with my profile picture in that I had changed it on the computer, but when viewed on the phone it had the older one on each tweet I had made, but on the box were the image is beside the bio it had the new one I had changed it to, so this was why I deleted the data and then when I saw it hadn't helped I then deleted the app itself. And after doing all of this helped with that issue on the phone.

I did read somewhere on this forum that someone also noticed their Twitter cache was at 0.00B too.
