For those saying corporate discounts don't apply to data, they certainly can, but it is most likely contingent on each agreement per company. For example, my corporate discount of 22% applies to both my voice and data plan, but only on the primary line.

i was in a store a few weeks ago the rep told me a lot of times u get 25% off data. no discount on text plans. and 20% off your voice plan. ive been told that a couple times. my friend worked at a hospital with that provided discounts to employees hes got 40 dollar talk, $20 unlimited text and 30dollar data and after taxes and all that crap he pays around 85 bucks when it all should come out to around 100 bucks

I'm getting the feeling from all the different answers its going to depend on what your company's dealio with VZ is.

I think I'm only going to figure this out when I get the phone....

Which means doing it in an actual VZ store (I obviously can't get email on my old company's acct anymore - haven't been with them in 6 years). Don't want to chance losing it.

Whomever I'm dealing with can help me out with that. I know they WON"T charge me activation (its waived for corporate). So its only a concern of paying an extra 100 or so and waiting for the rebate. Hopefully they can do in store on that too.

Don't know if anybody has posted this yet- I just got home and haven't caught up on today yet... I talked to VZW cust svc on the phone and the rep said they will be shipping early for pre sale orders and you should receive the phone before the stores... Incredible!

So, I'm sure this is just an illusion ... But ... This picture makes it look like there's a light around the Optical Trackpad.

I'm SURE it's not ... but wouldn't that be interesting? It would have come up somewhere I'm sure so I'm 99.9% sure it's just an illusion...

I think that's just light reflecting off of a metal ring.

"The guys and gals in the lab are working on something new and we want you involved in the process. We are looking for a name that is playful and full of youth. If you were to choose one of the following names for a new phone, what would it be? Here are the options in no particular order:"

Thanks!

I'm 90% sure I have Visual Voice Mail on my Hero - When I open the voice mail application, I get a list of phone # and when I tap one I hear the voice mail. I also get options to delete, foreward, text message, reply, and lock the voice mail . I guess I just have to eat 1 less hambuger a month.:D

One more question - How do you find out if you can get a company discount and how do you apply it?

I have had the Corporate Discount (22%) for a bunch of years now.

Hell...when I started mine was 19%. I don't even work at the company anymore. But I ain't saying a thing. Whenever its renegotiated up...they raise me up.

What I have been told, although I can't confirm (I don't have any smart phone yet) is that the 22% is only on the Voice Plan. That the other stuff - data, text messaging, visual voicemail, are add-on's.

The discount only applies to the Voice Plan (which kind of sucks). The only thing I can confrim (I have a Razr right now) is my 22 percent is NOT taken off of my 10 dollar text messaging plan. Only my plan (900 min America's Choice for 59.99 - they have changed plans since I got it).

My total bill usually comes out to around 66 dollars or so when you do the math. 59.99-22%=46.80....plus 10 dollar messaging = 56.80...then we have all the frakkin taxes for another 10 dollars.

I'm debating whether to drop myself down to the 40 dollar plan (which would be 32 after the discount) before getting the phone. Because using the same math it would be 32+30 (for data) plus 10 for messaging and possibly 3 for visual voice mail (yes I know I can use google voice for both - I don't want to have to tell everyone a different number to message me on - and I'm debating the visual voice mail option because of notifications) makes it come out to 72 plus tax....bringing it to around 80.

Can anyone else confirm the corporate discount has 0 effect on the data plan? Are there any combo packages for corporate discount people that offer both?
If you get the Talk&Text at 59.99 you'll get the discount off of the whole 59.99. If you just get the Talk at 39.99 and add a different text plan you only get the discount on the 39.99.

I was told by a CSR that the discount does apply to the data also. Maybe it depends on your companies discount plan with VZW. I am still on the ACII contract and get a discount on all items.

Kinda pathetic that my company discount is 6% on "monthly access fees", but the 25% off accessories isn't bad. (But then, there's a lot about my company that's pathetic...)

Ok guys since I asked this question 3 times and no one was able to answer me, I went ahead and called Verizon to ask directly.

If you purchase your phone from Best Buy mobile or any authorized retailer, you CAN have your phone into a verizon store for warranty service.

You can also add Verizon insurance even if you purchase from a Best Buy mobile.

So there you go. There is no downside to purchasing at a Best Buy mobile or other authorized retailer!

Enjoy!
