Best case for note 2?

As much as I love the idea of the wallet cases with snap-out cases for holding just the phone (like the Spigen Snap or the Verus Two Way case), they just don't seem to offer nearly enough protection. Stories like yours frighten me away from the wallet cases.

My compromise is to use a CaseMate Tough for good protection without adding too much bulk. Then, when I'm out and about, the phone with case fits perfectly inside a Coach Zippy Wallet. The Coach wallet is a wristlet with card slots. This way I get wallet functionality but the phone is well protected. It's slightly bulkier than one of the wallet cases, but not by too much.

Great Case-mate tough review!!!

Just got my note 2 and have a gel case atm.
It's terrible as the cut outs are tiny and I can't even use the spen while using the case as it's slightly coveted!

This Blue/grey case-mate looks brilliant with good cut outs and some proper protection of needed.

Cheers :)

Oh my yes you are lucky. I know you prefer to be caseless, is that still the case? (See what I did there?).... :D

Yeah I c u. Rockin my custom case since I got the Kidigi car dock. Still don't like having a case. Just to lazy to install skin I bought and want to get battery cover replaced

Your comment about the battery cover made me think about the fact that's the one item no one ever seems to buy an extra for those just in case moments.

My battery cover sits in a drawer somewhere. Using Samsung hardshell meant I could leave the battery door off and have quick access when swapping batteries.

I used to have an Otterbox Commuter. And yes it was good but it was pricey and made the phone very bulky. Also, it would get in the way of the screen protector and cause it to crinkle up at the top. I was browsing Amazon and came across this case and absolutely love it. Does it's job, it's thin, and keeps the normal shape of the phone and keeps it light.

They have them in pretty much any color you want and got great reviews. Good to know there are cases out there that are very inexpensive and do the job as good as these overpriced ones you see at the retail stores.

look quite nice but wouldn't really want to drop my Note 2 with one on though :D

Yeah I'm always very careful with my phones. At certain heights, doesn't matter which case you have, something is going to break on the phone. I'll take that risk to not have to put up with a huge bulky case like Otterboxes.

I'm very careful but decided to get the case-mate tough case as it looks study workout to much bulk.
I have 2 kids so it might save my phone if one of them grabs it without me knowing lol

I also got phone insurance for the 1st time ever with this phone!
If it breaks I want it replaced :D

OK, going to clean up this section a little, moving this to the best case for Note2 thread, lets all try to keep the case talk in this thread, cheers.

I was using a really cute wallet case purchased from eBay. However, I was really concerned about dropping the phone while talking on it and while the flap was not closed. The case slid off my bed once and the phone popped out landing a few feet away. Thank goodness it landed on an area rug!

Tried rubber/hardshell case from eBay. Onc again, not enough protection at the corners and and not enough of a lip to protect the screen.

Saw a great review here for the UAG. What a great case!!! Not too bulky and very stylish. I have the white one. I have been getting compliments since I started using it. My husband bought the Galaxy III yesterday and begged me to order the same case for him.

By the way, phone slipped off the bed again onto my wood floor. Other than a loud thump, the phone was fine. UAG did what it was supposed to do. I would recommend it to anyone.

You are so right! I have been using the phone as my reader since I got it (haven't touched my Nook since) and fall asleep while reading. I really needed a good case. Considered the Defender but couldn't get with the bulk.

Good choice with UAG case and I'm glad you enjoyed the review :)

With so many cases I reviewed, this is by far my favorite go-to case. Case-mate Tough is excellent too because of it being slim and offering a decent protection, but I use my phone inside/outside and let my kids (5yr and 8yr) play with it sometime, so I need a better drop protection which I find in UAG.

I just received my Casemate Tough Case in the mail. I must say that I am very impressed. Looks like it will do the job of protecting my Note 2.

I bought my wife the Note 2 and she loves it. She is having trouble finding a case that will protect the phone from all the "debris" in her purse, yet have quick access. Suggestions?

If that's all she needs, any flip cover would work. Possibly in conjunction with a good screen protector. Or she could simply keep the phone zipped inside a small bag, like a makeup bag or wristlet, or inside a separate compartment in her purse - most purses seem to have a zippered pocket on the wall and she'll always know where to reach if she needs the phone.

I have a CaseMate Tough on mine and it fits perfectly inside a Coach Zippy Wallet, which I use as my wallet. It makes it easy to take just my wallet and phone for errands, too, without committing to a wallet case (I don't like any that I have seen and don't want their bulk in the way when I am using the phone).

Since you mentioned "protect the phone from all the 'debris' in her purse", I will assume that screen protection is higher priority than drop protection in your case? Having a phone tangled around with keys and other stuff might do a number on your screen even with screen protector, so I would suggest something with a flip case. Those have shortfalls because you have to flip it open and could be nuisance when you take pictures. But it will give you a good screen protection and overall phone scratch protection. If you have a bigger budget, something like Spigen Wallet Snap case might be even better, or fancy Zenus cases - those have flip cover and wallet for cards and cash, but come at a premium price.

Merging your post with the case thread, cheers

I would prefer not to be merged since I am searching for a case for a woman using a purse. Would you please unmerge my thread? Thanks!
As mentioned, you are still looking for a case and merging means we won't have a duplicate thread of what's already being talked about here.
I know going through all these post may seem daunting but there's a lot of good cases mention throughout.
