I know it is not best buy, however I spoke with a verizon customer service member last night and I was told that all verizon stores would have some on the 29th and it would be a first come first serve basis, not including the pre-orders.I went into BestBuy store that has a BB Mobile inside. Talked to Asst Manager. Was told that you can Pre-order the phone 18th or after and pick up 29th (Not before). One thing I was told that I have not seen is that on the 29th they will only have the Incredibles that are pre-sold. They will not get additional inventory of incredibles for sale until a week or 2 later (After the 29th). Only incredible phones they will have on the 29th are pre-sold ones.

well if thats the case the guy i just talked to obviously had no idea what he was talking about..he just sounded so convincing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me help you out. The Eris isn't even in the discussion with the Incredible. It's not even worth debating it with yourself. Choose the Incredible and you'll be infinitely happier.

I just called and asked if he could tell me anything about the Incredible. "No, not so much. What are you looking for? A release date?" I guess I should have let him keep talking to see just how much he knew. I told him I already had the release date and knew they were doing pre-orders on Sunday, but wanted to know what that meant. "Yeah, that's not 'till Sunday. You just come in, purchase a $50 gift card as your 'deposit' and then you'll be first to get a phone the day it's released (it's saved for you) and you use the $50 gift card towards the phone you want. Then, if anyone else comes in and wants it, it would only be by availability."
There ya go. A bit clueless, but also interesting to know more of the details of how it works.
Now I can feel like I contributed SOMEthing...even if it's not much.

I know, right? The renders seem to emphasize the countours on the back with lighting too. In the shot with the phone leaning on its side, though, they look very minimal. Also, the renders make the capacitive buttons look crappy and the optical pad look like a bulge. Not to mention - the screen is crisp and OLED - why do the press shots make it look like a blurred mess?
The real photo reassures me that, yes, this phone will look damn good in person.

I called my local bestbuy. Spoke to the mobile department and said it was available for pre-sale. I and then asked "i can leave with it on sunday". And he said "no but i can pick it up on the 29th"

I'm not sure. Perhaps.
All I know is that this phone looks WAY better in the wild than it does in mockup pictures. It looks sick! Thank God we got these new pictures. That thing looks like a solid piece of steel to me. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
