yeah.. i liked that.. but i dont think i have any more of those!!!! :p

the toothpaste thing works.. if you get the cheap type that have small gritty particles in them.

Teaspoon of sugar and hot water for hiccups.

Sugar is also supposed to neutralize super hot food. (pepper type)

I see milk for minor burns is back. My mother poured evaporated milk all over my hand when I scalded it. It worked.

I'm pretty sure in the other thread I linked it was discussed that did not work.
The toothpaste (abrasive type) works on scratched watch glasses too. That is, if anybody still wears a watch as it seems most people (including myself) use their phone these days.

And it pays to have a lot of patience, or a electric buffing wheel.

Hack:
If a button falls off your shirt or coat and you don't have time to sew it back on, strip the paper off of a twisty-tie, and thread it through the button, through the shirt, and twist. Sew it when you get the time.

That's all well and good, but how many people carry twisty ties with them?

What?! Who doesn't carry twisty ties on them? :p

Steal it from your mate's loaf of bread if you're at their house. I don't care where you get it. The point is if you dont have time to sew one back on, so in your own home would be fine. If you don't have a twisty tie, I guess you're screwed, dude.

I haven't see a loaf of bread with a twist tie in years. The bread bags are held together with a piece of flat plastic. Garbage bags all tie. Only place I have seen twist ties is craft stores.

There are pins available in sewing notions that will PIN a button back on.

My son always gets twist ties in the grocery store in the produce section to make twist tie men and they always seem to end up in my jacket pocket. But when I lose a button at work it is because it was ripped off my shirt and a twist tie won't put the material back together.
