How will the Best Buy pre-order work for people that aren't currently on Verizon?

I'm going to do a 2 year agreement with Verizon, but I plan on buying the phone at Best Buy - can I buy a phone plan at Best Buy, or is that something I will have to arrange with VZW later?

I just want to know how much I will have to pay Best Buy if I am planning on signing up with VZW.

Interesting...do they do it for other indirect stores? I know I can use NE2 at my local VZW Premimum Authorized retailer.

The business relationship is probably different.

The reason why Verizon "lets" BB sell their phones is to get new customers not keep old ones. I would suspect because of their size BB gets a fair share of the profits.

they don't want return customer going to BB, they want them buying direct so VZW can keep all the profits(or lose "less" on the phone)

I'm on an ACII plan and all the android phones on the website show that they are compatible with my plan. Sure hope the Incredible is too, because I don't want to change it.

It should be, As far as I know the only requirement is having a acceptable data plan, Which I assume you have on the ACII ?

I've read on HoFo before that it says it's compatible but when people actually try to activate the newer smartphones on ACII plans it still makes them switch.

I just called BB and they said they DO do the NE2.. so you might want to doublecheck that for the guy that said BBM doesnt do the NE2 discount.
aw man now im confused and probably the rest of us too! i was gona to bb tomorrow and have my pre order refunded. please if someone would give us a definite answer, so we can all use our ne2

Has it been covered if Best Buy Mobile will have a dummy unit out to look at tomorrow before pre-ordering? Or is this pre-order sight unseen?

If so, it kind of ironic all the people who choose this phone over the nexus for the fact that they want to be able to "play with a phone in person before they buy it"

Yeah?

I haven't purchased the protector for the incrdible yet but do own these for my Canon Mark III's. They work great. Here is the email I received when I registered for the iPad give away (minus the actual code).

I think you're right about the business relationship being different, and your thoughts on BB keeping more of the profit of the phone sale make sense. Maybe VZW gives the NE2 credit to BB who keeps it as profit, and doesn't pass it on to customers, or something like that.

The only thing I have a problem with is that VZW is going to lose money on the initial sale of any subsidized phone...they make it back on the contract/calling plan, plus some.

So, I'm not so sure that VZW looks at BB as a desired sales outlet for new customers only...but the fact does remain that BB seems to have different policies than other "indirect" retailers. Hmm...

Oh goodness. Went yesterday to new VZ store and the rep was like, no problem ma'am do you have a business card, I will make sure you get one as quick and they are available. He said he would sign me up and all, no cost! unlike BB who want $50
Just my experience.

are you hot. i think he was flrting with you:p

OK, so I plan on pre-ordering The Inc on 4/19, does anyone know if they reevaluate my "corporate discount" when I sign the new contract? The reason I ask is that I'm still receiving a discount from a company I used to work for that recently went out of business.

this is sort of a "dont ask dont tell" kinda situation. if they dont ask then dont tell them. and chances are they probably dont care. if they did then they would have probably taken away the discount when that buisness closed. doesent mean they wont do it in the future. IDK though. i used to work for an alarm company that had discounts through VZW, after i quit they still gave me the discount. then i started working for someone else and they had better discounts so i had them switch me over. other than that they never asked.

It seems to me the reviewers prefers the anti-fingerprint, but to me its matte finish makes the screen look foggy and it dulls the colors. It does prevent fingerprints though.

I got the crystal for my zune hd and it is awsome.

If you're looking for just a screen protector, I'd highly advise check out Boxwave.

BoxWave Accessories - iPhone, Blackberry, Treo, HTC Cases, Batteries, Chargers & More

Their screen protectors are literally 100% invisible. I've been using their crystal ones for years and nobody could ever tell I had a screen protector on it. I have a glare reduction one on my TomTom 920 Go and even that one looks invisible. My father owns a TomTom as well and I put mine next to his and nobody could tell at all mine had a screen protector on it.

A few people over at PPC Geeks ended up buying some after I posted pictures and they were all extremely happy.

Did you actually try to select any of the phones and go through the upgrade process? I didn't have to go through the whole thing. After the first step, the website told me that I had to change to one of their Nationwide plans. That's the only choice I had.

You know, there seems to be a lot of confusion with VZW/BB. We discussed this somewhat last week. My BB initially told me that I could have the $199 price only if eligible for NE2, but that if I only had an annual upgrade, I would have to purchase from VZW to get that price. Since I wasn't eligible for NE2 at that time, I didn't think to ask about the additional $ discount that NE2 provides.

Someone on this board suggested that BB policies may be different by region or even store, and then suggested that all of us who wanted to purchase from BB contact their local store directly to find out what the deal is. I'm starting to think that

Here's a few pictures of my old HTC Touch with the BoxWave crystal screen protector on it.

I'll be doing my pre-order through vzw and having it delivered to my work. We get daily deliveries before 10am on overnight shipments so it will be there first thing in the morning. Then I'll be able to let it charge fully at my desk without the temptation of playing with it since I'll be at work :)

:pi dont think im gonna get much work done that day. actually i wont even be at work:p

dont bother going they are going to say, "no." i was wondering the same thing too of why they wouldn't give the ne2 discount and lose sales...

Seems pretty simple to me. Verizon has told Best Buy they won't get reimbursed for any NE2 discounts they give so it's out of Verizon's pocket for whatever NE2 discounts they decided to do (or Verizon made it really difficult for BB to do it). BB doesn't make enough on a phone sale most of the time to spot people $30/$50/$100 on a phone sale. At that point they are selling a phone at a loss. I would think they might do the NE2 "price match" for people who get the lower amount of NE2 money and are buying a lot of other accessories that BB is making a ton of profit on.

No, but I can add one, hopefully, without changing plans.

Uh oh. I'm going to have to think about this. I have a very cheap plan that I realllllly don't want to change.

i called 5 best buy stores and received only 1 definite answer...(if you work for a mobile store how come they dont know???)

Seriously! Seems to be a terrible lack of communication between management and employees...different rules (some stores honoring annual upgrades, some not) also create more confusion than necessary.

I think I'll either pre-order through VZW.com, or be at my local store at 9:00am on the 29th.

Yeah it sounds like your in trouble :(

I'm nervous myself because I have a $10 bolt-on 500 txt package. I'm "hoping" they let me keep it. I really don't want to pay a extra $20 for unlimited txtx's I'll never use :( and I use enough that it would get expensive per txt :/
