Gallery taking 80% of battery usage

On my Note 8.0 under Settings / Battery, the Gallery is taking 80% of the battery usage with Screen at 16%. What is the Gallery doing to take so much power? How can I stop it? If I touch Gallery and touch Force Stop, it doesn't do anything. Thanks.

Sounds like Picasa hasn't been toggled off to auto-sync. Make sure that's toggled off in the settings.

Go to the accounts area, in your settings, and for your Google account, make sure that Pictures aren't set to auto-upload/sync.

I already turned all the syncing off and it is still taking my battery. I now must plug it in to charge 1/2 way through the day with little use.

What other app(s) do you have that are accessing the gallery? Picasa? Facebook? Dropbox? etc...etc.

Unfortunately, I have found that some users (including myself) notice that battery life is a bit shore. I wonder if others have found the same thing. But in you case I would carefully go through each and any related app and disable and watch battery life to see if life extends again. Then you will know what is draining it.

I was having the same problem as you, so I took it back to my local Best Buy store where they have a Samsung section set up. The representative there showed me how to make sure that the programs that I wasn't using were ACTUALLY closed. It made a huge difference in my battery life.

To do this, press and hold the home button until a carousel wheel of apps come up.... these are all the open apps that you have. Just swipe each app to the left or right to close it completely... it really does make a big difference in battery life.
