Root sms messages broken up

Anybody else having a problem with sms messages on their phone? Its supposed to split them up after 160 characters but mine turns a 75-100 character text into 3 separate messages, MOST of the time but not ALL THE TIME. I've checked the settings and all that. Nothing changes it. Does it on the stock sms AND GO SMS PRO.
 
splitting is done by the sender, not the reciever. so if you are getting them like that it has nothing to do with you
 
I receive em just fine...out of order but fine. Its when I send em is when they split when they shouldn't.
 
I didn't count exactly, but one line is about 30 chars. Mine splits at 5+ lines so that's about 160.

edit: using stock messaging app
 
My stock breaks it up crazy too. Sends 3 msgs when it really should only be one. Been like that since I first bought it. Just weird.

I have noticed that the stock keyboard will add a bunch of characters when I type the word "the". Its weird, and it takes away like, 70 characters from a text message.

I downloaded ICS keyboard free. Its identical to the stock keyboard but doesn't go stupid when I type the word "the" lol
 
haha. Haven't checked that yet but know that the "corrector" doesn't HAVE 'the' programmed into it. Gotta select it. Some other words too but that's crazy. K, I'll check out that keyboard. Thanks. I get anywhere between 57 characters for one message and 66 for each additional page. Lmao. (That's on the stock keyboard.)
 
I've noticed a few other words that do it as well, but "the" was the one that I noticed the most. (Its used the most.)
 
It doesn't seem like the keyboard should have anything to do with how many chars you get per sms in a split. That said, i use swiftkey so maybe you could try it to see if it makes a difference.
 
On the one I dled, it gives me 160 per page now. 148 on go sms. Haven't actually SENT a long one yet, so we'll see when I have a great discussion with baby momma. Lol
 
CWM is a recovery. Superuser by ChainsDD is an app. Su is a binary.

You need the su binary and a superuser app for root. ChainsDD is probably the most popular superuser app and the one i use, but there is at least one other. I don't see the need to change since it all works as is ;)

Like I said, the stock KB for me likes to throw in extra characters with certain words.

You can't see the extra characters, but your text character count goes from 160 to 70 left immediately.
 
Ahh, that's what I meant with "su"....SuperUser. I see a cwm type of superuser in the play store. Has a pound sign as label. ChainsDD is the android with an eye patch i believe. Just seein if theres any performance difference. Aaand a hit or miss with the kb.
 
i don't think there are performance benefits to one over the other. you could always try them out to be sure
