dbag- if your talking about using an upgrade from another line- you have to order the phone on the eligible line and after you activate it you can then switch numbers around

i just called 611 and had them do both activation and number switch

^This, if you order online; if you order in-store you can just tell them you want to use your upgrade for another line, and then activating it on the line that's eligible for upgrade can be skipped.

Good pic of the Invishield "orange peel"..

i wanted to bump a question u got asked explained orange peel effect.. etc like how long till it happens because once u put on a zagg sheild isnt it perma on the screen?

its naturally like that. it doesn't happen over time. the shield isn't permanently attached. u can peel it off (if u get a replacement device). its just stuck on there really well.

I was under the impression that after you use the alternate phone's upgrade and receive your new phone, just go here Activate Your Phone and put the phone number you want to use and the new phone's ESN in.

Please correct me if I'm wrong as this is what I was planning on doing.

Well I want one that would be an anti-glare screen protector. It would be really annoying to get a call and not be able to see the screen because of the glare.

I don't know why ANYONE would buy a screen protector, it's all a gimmick now that screens are scratch-proof glass. Complete waste IMO and it makes the phone look like poo.

Forgot those screen protectors and extended batteries being in stock...what we really want is the Incredible in stock and it seems all kinds of zip codes are starting to see stock in warehouses...enjoy while closing your eyes and pretending that blurred out zip code is really your zip code!

(also, realize it wasn't "5 minutes"...something came up, sorry)

EDIT: Look at the bottom of the pic...14k units destined for one zip code/market.

is it only in the light that you see the "orange like texture" and does it bother you?

dnt even notice it. I have it on my phone, ipod, laptop, my wifes phone, mom's laptop, and various old phones.

I think the ideal set up would be the invisibleshield for the body (for added grip) and the hard plastic shield for the screen (to retain the smooth screen)

I have one of those on my iPod touch...not only does it feel good (not slippery) but it also makes looking at the screen very nice.

Also, I didn't know touch screens now were scratch resistant. The Dare certainly wasn't :p

It's just the texture of the shield. It isn't something that develops. I can say that I never had trouble with the edges peeling or anything and the full body shield for my zune even has tiny little shields for the squircle and the front and back buttons. No trouble at all with it pulling up.

It's DEFINITELY not un-removable! In fact it peels off completely cleanly without any residue whatsoever. However, it will toast your shield when you remove it (after it finally sets which takes a little while, ie don't stress about putting it on, you can move it around during installation w/o toasting it) but they'll replace it free under their lifetime warranty policy. You just pay a couple of bucks for shipping. They did that for me, no problems.

Did I miss something? Its says nothing in inventory?

Regarding screen protectors...I bought a 3-pack of the verizon brand screen protectors for $10 for my LG Venus when I bought that phone 2.5 years ago. IMO, they worked very well. Each screen lasted about 8 months and you couldn't even tell it was on there. I peeled my last one off a couple of months ago and the screen was absolutely pristine even though I carry my phone in my pocket with my keys. Now it has some small scratches from going naked.

Needless to say, I'll probably just buy the verizon protectors for the Incredible. I prefer the idea of a dry adhesive vs. having to spray my screen with that Invisibleshield liquid. I'm sure there aren't any issues with that but it just makes me nervous.

What was the point of a picture that says there is not any invetory available?

I COMPLETELY agree with that. I've had my LG Dare for two years, it's my original one and I've had ZERO problems with it. It has a plastic screen and there's only a few little minor scratches on it. So, I don't think the Incredible's screen will get scratched at all. But yeah, those screen protectors are over-kill, in my opinion and they make the phone look silly. That's just my personal opinion.

I think I am going to forego the invisishield for the Incredible. The grippy feel using the touch screen just doesn't feel right.

Invisishield IMO are the worst screen protectors, unless you like that horrid orange peel look. I have tried ghost armour and they are ok, they at least dont have the orange peel look. Personally I dont like anyone spraying their so called solution (soapy water) all over my phone. Your almost better off with a plain old static screen protector. Also NO screens are scratch proof, so by putting nothing at all on your taking a big risk... Just my $.02

Especially since we use our fingers now instead of a pointer like with the older WinMO phones...

That's my worry too. My watch is technically scratch resistant glass too and it has a bad scratch on it. I hate to pay good $$$ for a phone I want to use for at least 20 months on a multi-time-per-hour-daily basis and not protect the screen somehow. I waited on any case for my Voyager and it's been dropped too many times to count. Good news is it's completely survived, bad news is it looks absolutely horrible. And, granted it isn't glass but the screen is scratched up from just basic touchscreen scrolling.
