Help Is it good to switch to Galaxy S IV

I'am thinking to switch to Galaxy SIV in few days,
i know the new update on GS3 will bring most of the features of GS4 but still it wont be that fast, and i'am sure GS3 will never have AirView feature.

What do you guys think? Is it a wise decision?

Yeah the s3 will never have airview or infrared and the s4 is a lot faster but isnt the s3 fast enough? dont think ive used an app yet that pushes the s3 to its limit so itl be a long time before it can be considered under-powered and by that time, there will be phones more powerful than the s4. I suppose if youre due an upgrade or if you have plenty of money then go for it :thumbup:

I like S3 just fine as far as power. Funky has some good points. But if you are due for an upgrade and have the money for it then the S4 is a good choice. On the other hand, if you can snag the S3 for a discounted price then heck, save the money

I did not notice the S4 being any faster than the S3 in apps or UI, but if app storage is not a factor for you, the display and camera are worthy IMO for an upgrade.

Yeah if u want a bigger screen then its a good upgrade but resolution... tbh i cant see a difference between 1080 and 720 but my eyes are pretty crap lol

The only way you can tell the difference between 720P and 1080P on a smartphone is if you have the phone right up next to your eyes and/or have perfect 20/20 or better vision. Personally I have better than 20/20 vision, and still can't tell a difference. (tbh I don't really care enough to compare that closely)

On topic though, I was all onboard to jump on the SS Goodship Galaxy 4. But after playing with one, I found it to be too similar to justify spending $200 on. (I do have an upgrade on my contract I can use) Most of the "fun" gimmicky crap was difficult to use, if it even worked at all. You look ridiculous using the "eye scrolling" thing since you basically have to move your head up and down like a hungry bird. The one thing I was REALLY looking forward to was the remote feature using the ir. But even then, I'm not even sure where I'd use it.

I'm keeping my S3, it'll last another year at least. I'm pocketing the $200, maybe to use it on a tablet or something this summer.

Aparently Apple (surprise surprise) are filing a law suit against the s4 because its Google Now functions infringe on Siri patents lmao!! Umm why dont they sue Google or Lg for the Nexus4? Because Samsung is damaging their sales?

So, do you really need/want the GS4 features that much that you cannot wait? Do you really need AirView, a slightly bigger screen and 1080p? Do you really want a top end phone released this year to impress your friends?

I bought the S4 on the launch day, and just like my S3, it had few problems. The bezel head 4 fine, hairline cracks on the corners in a matter of 4 days of really delicate usage. I barely started to setting up the phone, migrating from my S3, and I never dropped it. Word! I also had a sound problem, it would make clicks and noise at volume around 11. Regardless song or headset.

So for now, I returned the phone.

I did play around with the phone long enough to fall in love with it, and I will certainly get it. I'm just going to wait for the "rush" models to sale out. and the newer one to arrive later on.

Secondly, we only have the 16gb models right now, which comes with just 8gb available for you, as the rest is taken by the comprehensive OS and all its features. While I have no problem using large SD card, I do prefer to have more storage, so I will wait till the 32 or 64 come to my market.

It is my next phone for sure. I'm just a sucker for all the little features, and I actually tend to use them quite often.

I agree that 720 and 1080 on a display this size is close to being the same at normal distance, but the extra .2" on a same size device makes it even nicer IMO. Still, the display and camera are in no stretch enough to lose the extra 17GB my S3 has. I think there is close to zero chance we see a 32GB. They have a VERY uniform message now:

"We have no details on a 32GB model, but the S4 16GB model can use up to a 64GB card for expansion".

They are apparently locked in now and the only chance we will see a 32 is if enough customers push back to make a difference. Given the arrogant a$$ attitude of Verizon leadership and their strange "Big announcment" yesterday, that might not even matter.

Personally don't really care for the fraction of an inch or AirView.
But I sure want Eraser shot, Drama Shot, Dual Video Call (I do lots of video calls with family, while living far abroad, can't wait to use that feature), S Health to replace Endomondo for my daily activities, Animated photo.... and the S Cover So I can see the caller, without opening the phone's cover to check.

Of course, the most important, I want to move away from the "Insane Chip". My S3 and Note 2 suffered SDS. I'm concern it will happen again. I want a new model with a new chip. And JB 4.2.2!

S-View Cover is like the ipad's cover. It will ON the phone as soon as you open it, and OFF it as soon as the cover is back on.

Also, once the cover is closed, it will display the caller ID and ability to answer or reject call, through the little window. Not breakthrough tech, but I dig it

I'm too disappointed that Samsung didn't say anything about it. Clearly it's a common problem. I was really pissed with them - short story coming up:

I had issue with bezel cracks and SDS. The first crack appeared in couple of days from purchase. I Google out hundreds of people facing the same problem. I screen shot and printed many of the cases with photos. Made sure each case was a different user, from various countries, across different carriers, and photos showing identical crack, about an inch under the volume rocker.
I took it to Samsung after being refused a replacement and their answer was, that it was an "incidental damage", not covered by warranty.
I compiled more, printed, and file case against with the Consumer Rights unit in here.

Then I got the SDS. On my S3 and Note 2. While I don't mind to restore my phone, I'm furious that it takes so long to fix, while they won't offer a replacement unit. Being couple of weeks without phone is not fun. Just because I'm privileged to have the means to buy phones with ease, I'm sure it doesn't apply to others, and in such cases, they should be far more considerate.

The customer service in here, at least, it's real shit. I really hope, my future S4 won't suffer similar faith. It would drive me up the wall.
