Argh.... a new (I believe) NE2 problem/question:
About 3 weeks ago, I switched the primary line on our family plan (for reasons having nothing to do with the pending Incredible order). When I went to look at pricing on MyVerizon, I noticed there was no NE2 showing up. I called 611 and a helpful rep told me that when you change the primary line, the NE2 (which had been there) doesn't kick back in for 90 days. ( Geez, I wish they would have mentioned that when I switched; I definitely would have held off).
Soooo... after doing some digging, she said that she couldn't offer me the NE2 discount on the D.I. until its release day, i.e., the 29th. She then told me it would be two-day shipping, so with the weekend I wouldn't see it until the following week. When I told her the pre-order info guaranteed delivery on the 29th if ordered up to the 28th, she said she'd provide overnight shipping so I'd get it on the 30th.
OK, I wasn't thrilled by this but figured I could wait the extra day (after 3 months of waiting) since it is a $100 NE2. But then I got to wondering:
I called back and got a different rep who was polite but clueless ("We don't even know what the price will be yet.") Any thoughts/suggestions on how I can 1) get my NE2 discount, 2) avoid dealing with a mail-in rebate, and 3) maybe still get My Precious on the 29th?
- If the Rep orders it for me on the 29th, do I still get the $100 on-line rebate?
- If so, will that rebate be deducted from the price or would it be a mail-in rebate?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the longish note.
P.S. The first rep mentioned that she had tried ordering the D.I. early herself and found that VZ had set the price on their system to $99,000 to discourage such early orders.![]()
Technically when you switch lines around you lose the NE2 credit. Only the primary lines gets it and it only gets it once every 20 months. The line that you now made the primary will be eligible for NE2 in 20 months from the date you moved them around. That date will be different from that lines upgrade date. The upgrade date will be whatever it was and NE2 will now be 20 months away for the new primary line. I can tell you 100% certain that it doesn't kick back in in 90 days. You're going to have to explain the situation over the phone and tell them you didn't realize changing the lines around would make you lose the NE2 credit and that nobody told you that when you did it. They can either manually give you that amount off your phone or give you a bill credit.
