Since latest update phone flashes on by itself

Hello everyone

Ever since I updated my android software it seems that my phone screen will be off then all of a sudden the home screen flashes for a few seconds then goes dark again. I can see if I get a message or notification but there isnt any thing there. Have any of you experienced this? Any fixes for this?
Other than this my phone has worked really good since the update.

I didn't take the Verizon update, but I seem to remember reading something about the smart stay being persistent.
Maybe that is your problem.

My wife, who has the Note2, has the same issue since the update.

So she politely vocalized her disdain towards the phone, whilst presenting it to me and
I went into menu/settings/motion and unchecked "Quick Glance".
So far, so good

Smart stay is has been off after update was done.

No..when it happens my lock screen appears. Just like when you turn power button on.

Unless somebody has an idea I guess im going to have to do a phone wipe

I didnt want to wipe my device so I started removing 1 program at a time. If that didnt work then I would reinstall the program and try another one. The program that was causing the issue was a program called remind me. I dont know why but its been 2 days an no issues.
