Thanks! I guess I don't have a business discount thing. And can't afford 269.99 plus the the required $51.67 tax that comes from:

"In California, sales tax is calculated on the full retail price of the device, not the discounted price you pay.

**The sales tax charged on your device was based on $529.99."

2 year contract it is :( BUT bright side is I get a new android phone! Been eligible for an upgrade since June 09.

No joke!
It took like 1.5 hours to get my order in online at verizon. enter data and wait then enter more data on a screen and wait then more waiting and even the payment took like 20 minutes to approve via credit card. and the to get a copy of reciept took about 10 minutes or more to fill in.

There must be like a zillion people ordering. I hope they do not run out of phones by the time they get my order.

$555.36 later and I had 2 incredible phones ordered for 1 year contract so I could go get better phones in a year when Verizon gets the LTE 4G stuff going.
 
I thought that my nocturnal habits would actually benefit me for once!!! I came home around 12:30am and VZW.com is like non-functional!!! It's 3:11am EST *pout face*

It works I just got done after putting in the order over the last 2 hours.

It is just realy slooooooow.

I started looking at it at 10:00 Pacific as it was past 12:00 eastern at that time and it was up for pre-orders. BUt even loging in was slow. But it did not time me out during the 1.5-2 hours it took to get them ordered.
 
Since Swype has already been ported to Droid 2.0 and Droid Eris with 2.1 leak then do you all think it will be compatible with the 2.1 on the Incredible? That would certainly make my day.
 
Somewhere in the process it asked about add-on accessories. And there was a link for "what comes in the box" or something like that. It was so slow I did not click it.

I assume a house AC power cord USB based comes with it and that we have to supply our own 16 GB card and our own Car charger.

Does anyone know if that is correct?

Anyone know of a cheap Ebay car charger that is known to really work with the Incredible? I do not want to give verizon $22 dollars each for one.

It does the same for me. It may be only letting new customers acquire the phone. Which, if that's the case, will have to take the day off on the 29th!

You have to be very patient. It is real slow.1.5 to 2 hours to get through the process.

I went here: HTC Incredible? and clicked on EXISTING CUSTOMERS SIGN IN Upgrade Your Phone or Add a Line

And from there it let me login, pick my lines for upgrade and pre-order. If you want the 1 year plan do NOTclick ADD to CART. Instead click on the Incredible Information link and then Click on the Contract 2year - 1 year pull down and select 1 Year contract. It is like $30 dollars more for the phone but you can upgrade in a year or less too. Then click Add to Cart.

I am thinking when 4G LTE is solid in 2011 I might want another upgrade and do not want to be locked into a 2 year contract at that point. I really went through the ringer with a 2 year contract on the ZBlackberry Storm1. I am still under contract for it. Lucky my wife and son were ready for upgrades so I stold my wifes line/upgrade.
 
Are you able to preorder any accessories to ship with the phone? I would like to get the extended battery. I'm at work and my BB storm doesn't work on the vzw site.

Right I forgot about the generic USB charger option. So buying 1 of each of those shipped to california is like $4.55 including shipping and tax. Not bad. 1.16+1.28 +1.72 SH and .38 tax = $4.55 or $7.73 for two sets.

It offers accessories. I saw like car charges and blue tooth headsets. Not sure if they had batteries offered or not. They had more than 1 pages of generic accessories and it was so slow I did not what to wait.


Blackberry Storm. I know the feeling. Talk about a slow browser and no memory. That is why I am ditching mine for the Incredible.

I think it's an optical illusion... messing around with this in GIMP I find that the diagonal on the Dinc seems a teensy bit shorter but that's probably due to the N1 being a teensy bit closer to the camera. Strangely, from this picture it TOTALLY looks like the N1 is a thicker phone, but on paper the Dinc should be thicker. Further evidence that your eyes are lying to you. :)
