Is the evo v 4g still on sale i recently went to the vm website and its not listed no more?? Normally if its out of stock the phone would still be there but grayed out, but now i don't see it at all.....

Seems like it's been over a month now. They've sold off all the EVO Vs...and any remaining stock would be refurb...likely used as replacements. That being said, many here are having trouble getting an EVO V as a replacement. VM oftentimes will push another phone as a replacement.

Looks like it's being replaced by the galaxy s3 as the new flagship phone.

They have to do something about all those Galaxy S2s though. At $279, I hate to think what they'll ask for a Galaxy S3. Probably inline with an iPhone?

I'd like to see the S2 drop to $150 (like they did with the EVO V) and then bring in the S3 for like $300...but that's just a dream :(

Yep, discontinued. RadioShack's website is teasing with a sick-low $129 price, but truth is they have no Evos available anywhere in the chain. I used the Zip Code product search with 50-mile radius, tried about 20 zips, and nothing.

Only problem I see with the Evo is it's stuck with WiMAX instead of the chosen-technology LTE.

wow i never knew that..I just called in for a replacement and the guy didn't say there were none left. Hopefully they send vm new 4g lte phone. I have no problem getting that and sending in my evo lol

That's not a problem at all if your city is also stuck with WiMAX instead of the chosen lte.

I spent the last two months trying to find an EVO V at any dealer. There have not been any at VM, Best Buy or Radio Shack in that time frame!!! At least in the Dallas area. I had automatic notification set up at every place that stocked the EVO and had that feature available. No one ever had one....

The consensus is that they are at EOL and only available from resellers at a high price.

I just use it because of Mobsters Unlocked Potential. I don't know if anyone would like to buy it though, is 99 dollars too much for a used but taken care of EVO V? Maybe it's just best to keep it for games and camera use.

Depends on how likely you are to get the upgrade bug anytime soon. I still occasionally play around with my Optimus V and an old Samsung Moment. Every time I do, I appreciate my phone a little more temporarily.

Especially since "upgrading" seems to mean buying a phone that won't fit in my hand and that won't have a dedicated search button. I bought my phone at release for $299, so have a hard time justifying spending that again any time soon. Not to mention the S3, S4, and HTC One are too big for me. Even the EVO is pushing the size limits for me.

To each his or her own though. You have to decide if it is better to spend about $99(the price you found) to $175 ( what I've seen) on eBay for the EVO or put it towards a newer ( and probably more expensive) phone. As a general rule I try to buy a phone that is less than a year old if for pre-pay, or at most 2 months old on contract. Refresh cycles are getting in to the 9-10 month range, and the EVO V is basically a 2 year old phone.

Also consider Android 4.3 will probably be released this Summer, and with it will come even more updates to Google apps we can't use.
