Help Pictures not always saving!

There have been two instances when my phone hasn't saved pictures I've taken. I have it set to save in the SD card and there is plenty of room. What do I do about that?
 
Had the same problem on my S3. Take pictures, they'd show up in the gallery and thought they were there to stay...but,

reboot/power down and the pics would disappear.

Bad SD card was the problem..

I've had the same 16 Gb SD card that my OG Droid came with. I did get a class 10 32 GB card from Costco a while back, but it screwed up my Razr Maxx causing the need for constant rebooting. I bought one there and didn't get one online so that if there was a problem, I could take it back. I did just that, and my issues went away.

How can I be as close to 100% sure as possible that there will be no issues like that if I get another card?
 
I had this issue a few weeks ago at a graduation only I was saving them to the phone itself. About 3 pics vanished.
