Connecting cellular modem to galaxy note 8.0?

It's possible to connect a 3G dongle to an Android device using USB OTG. However, the drivers and functions have to be built into the Kernel. And knowing Samsung, they probably left this out like USB to Ethernet connectivity.

Other method would be to tether the tablet to your phone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Which would make complete sense it being a wifi only device or because they have an LTE one coming out.
I'm actually looking forward to see what the price tag on that one will be.
 
I see, so the only way is to get to it tethered to my phone data as long as I'm away of home and my wifi network.
That's about right. Unfortunately, I cannot say for sure as I don't have a 3G dongle to test it out. I also have a Note 10.1, but I'm almost certain the 8.0 will be in the same boat.

I know for certain that USB to ethernet does not work with the Note 10.1.
