note 10 .1 questions

i am planning on getting a tablet and have pretty much decided on the note 10.1 but i have some questions
1st what can and can not be put on the SD card
2nd can you use a flash drive with it with the appropriate connectors
3rd can you use a external hard drive with it with the appropriate connectors

i plane on using it for reading pdf books watching downloaded movies and taking notes in class if there is a better alternative let me know. this will be my first tablet and id like to stay with android OS

1. Apps can not be put on the card unless rooted. This a limitation of Android post ICS, so any device running a newer version of Android will have the same limitation.
Data from apps such a download folder for Chrome can be put on ext. card but only if the app was written with that ability. So thats on an app by app basis.

2. Yes, with a OTG connector.

3. Yes, with a OTG connector, but it has to have its own power source. Some people have gotten low power HDs to work straight with the connector. Some people have also used a powered usb hub to get around the power issue.

I think the Note is the best all around productive tablet, if you can justify the high price tag. The spen and multiwindow put it far above the rest. I use mine for sketching on the go.
 
The Note 10.1 is perfect for taking notes in any situation. I love using handwriting to text features, it makes it pretty quick. If you don't like the stock handwriting to text feature, don't give up. There are apps that can do that for you as well. Or you can get a Bluetooth keyboard. It's an amazing device, I hope you get it.
