Help Apparent Area "51" issue with the Email Trash Folder

I have multiple email accounts on my phone. In the "Combined" view, the trash folder shows there are 51 messages, however when I open the folder there are no messages at all.

I have gone to each separate email account and checked their trash folder; each showing empty.

I do have a Gmail, AT&T and another web email account on the phone but have checked their trash folders as well online and assured they are empty.

Why would the phone be showing messages in the trash folder when the folder is empty?

I have even tried removing the battery and rebooting the phone but cannot clear the "51" messages.

I have been searching online for an answer before posting but have obviously not found any resolution. Any clues?

Did you set up any accounts in the Email utility that you only use online with your PC or another device? Yahoo, MSN, etc?

If so, the combined feature may be detecting those and showing them as in the Trash folder.
