Help possible fix for dead phone that wont charge?

Ive seen a few similar threads for other phones but no one seems to have the exact problem im facing nor with the same model.

I was using my Galaxy Nexus perfectly fine last night, played a few games, text blah blah, you get the point, and it was charging perfectly fine. The next morning i go to a drs appointment and while using my phone it just starts acting odd. Trying to text someone and the keyboard kept popping in and out and the text screen kept scrolling up and down. The phone started to become laggy all of a sudden and was just acting really odd.

I get home and my phone is low on battery power so i plug it into my wall unit charger, no charge. I change sockets nothing, go to another room and try a socket in there, nothing. so i change USB cables and try but to no avail, i switch and plug it into my PC no charge. Also when i normally plug my phone in through my usb port on my pc it pulls up my galaxy under my computers store-able devices but it didn't this time. So i try yet another usb cord and still no charge and no connection to pc. I turn on and off my phone multiple times, remove the battery a bunch of times, i even did a factory resent moments before it died

Now my phone is completely dead and will not charge or connect for anything. ive tried absolutely everything and im stumped, im guessing im going to have to return this phone and pay to either get it fixed or get a new one? Its not even a year old!

I believe it has to be a battery issue. Can you boot into recovery mode with your phone at its current state?

I cannot boot my phone at all anymore like i said its completely dead, while trying my best to fix it, took to long and the battery just finally died. I wouldn't figure it to be a battery issue anyway because of the fact that when plugging into my PC while my phone still had a bit of charge and was turned on, it didn't connect and show up as an external storage device like usual.

It might not be a battery, but rather the charging port itself. One way to figure it out is to buy an external charge that you can take the battery out and charge it using that. If it charges and turns on the phone when charged and reinserted, that's the issue. If the battery doesn't charge, then it's the battery itself.

hmmm i dont have an external charger for phone batteries, so i guess ill just take it up to sprint and throw a fit or show a little extra leg ;) till someone helps me get a new phone lol

Thanks for the help though

Ive had to bend mine back towards the screen twice so far. Im sure there are more to come. It does work though. Im just hoping it doesnt snap off. Whenever I lay my phone down I put it face down now every time.
