Root [T-Mobile] Soft Bricked MESS

Lurker
Hi all, I really need help, I'm new to android rooting (I've done jailbreaks & unlocks on IOS many times) All was going well until I tried to flash CyanogenMod 10.1. Now my phone is stuck in the CyanogenMod boot loop & Nothing I've found has helped... I REALLY need my phone for work monday even if I have to do a factory restore. I have tried to boot into recovery (vol up + home + power) & I get a quick flash (blue) that says RECOVERY BOOTING but does nothing else, once I let go of the buttons it shuts off. Download mode (vol down + home + power) takes me to the DL screen but stays on it w/o progressing. I have no idea what to do & with so many models, variants & roms I'm at a total loss... Can someone PLEASE help walk me through this. Here is what I did...

I used motochopper, SuperUser & confirmed the root with Titanium Backup. I used the Rom manager & installed ClockworkMod Recovery. Everything we fine up until here. this is where I did the DL & install for CyanogenMod & restarted. I DID NOT WIPE or clear the cash, I realize this may be part of the problem :( because it wouldn't start up after.

My specs are

GS3 16gb T999 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (before CyanogenMod) I'm using MAC OSX.

Thanks everyone... I really appreciate it

Im on a different version of s3 but if someone can give you a link to the stock firmware i think you can save it by using Odin on a PC to flash it to the phone (in download mode)

It sounds very much to me like you flashed an incompatible S3 ROM. I got the exact same results when I accidentally flashed a I9300 ROM onto my TMO T999 by accident. You're right, there are many variants. I ended up doing it by having multiple tabs open in my browser, doing a forum-wide search in one, and being half asleep and in a hurry to flash before going to work....

First, download Windows. Install bootcamp and install AT LEAST a barebones Windows XP partition in your MAC. Sorry to be blunt, but YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS FLASHING ANYTHING on your phone without access to a Windows machine. Sorry, but it's what all the SW is written for, and it is what it is. You can LEGALLY DL XP Homo Edition from Digital River and use it for 30 days+ free.

Second, you're not really "soft-bricked". (Really no such thing, but that's another story) You simply have a corrupt OS. As long as you can PWR + VOL- + HOME and get into DL mode... YOURE FINE!. No need to panic. You can go to sammobile.com and DL the latest firmware for your device, and ODIN flash it to your phone, and ur good to go! And sammobile has a specific search so you SHOULD get the right FW this time. Then reroot, and start over like it never happened...
