Help droped htc desire down toilet

hi there.i droped my htc desire down the toilet. the phone switches on but is stuck on the first page and the touch screen will not move, there is also a traingle sign with ! in the middl on the top of the screen. any ideas how to sort this problen will be appreciated. many thanks

Take the battery out and wait until it is completely dry before putting it back in and switching it on. As soon as something like that happens the battery should be taken out.

Immediately after getting wet, remove battery and submerge device in uncooked rice for at least 48 hours. Otherwise generally you're screwed

The rice trick does work, takes all the moisture out, you can also use the silica packs

dropped mine in the bath last week, took battery out straight away, put it in a bag of rice overnight, had a tiny bit of condensation of the screen for a few hours after using it, but *touch wood* its been fine since....
