Help Screen eating battery

Lurker
Hi all, Im new to the forum and need help!!! My Girlfriend has a Galaxy S3 with a problem. The battery is being used up at an extremely fast rate. So fast in fact that after charging for 6 hours last night, it was only at 94% this morning. Ive tried to research the problem but most of the answers look like a foreign language to me.
When I open her Battery Usage tool, it shows that her screen is using more than 80% of the battery!!! Her screen settings at at nearly the minimum that can be set. Ive read something about apps preventing the phone from going into deep sleep, but I dont comprehand most of the directions on how to find the culprit. Can someone help me in extreme basic english?
TIA
William

Tbh it doesnt seem that bad. There are whats known as partial "wake locks" there though. You can see points when the phone is awake even though the screen is off. Could be something like facebook thats doing it.
Display is always the biggest battery user if the phone has been used

I agree with you. 7% battery loss, in 40 minutes with screen sometimes on and data on seems normal to me.

When I wake up and check my mails, I lose like 5% in these 10 minutes. All because of the screen.

^^ yup. Also, look at the mobile network signal bar. Mine is usually constantly green. That chart shows that the phone is in a weak signal area and that causes a lot of battery drain

you are absolutely correct Funky! I have the same problem. Best advise is to have a lot of chargers always available :-)
