if your treat the incredible like a Iphone you won't have that problem. just remember to Dock it each time you want to transfer anything and you will be fine. Well you can of course email things off of it too.

I guess being able to replace the battery and actually have a spare battery is in some way a negative feature too?

um dont forget that it

1: doesent unlock your car for you.
2: it wont open your garage door.
3: it cant turn on the micro wave or any appliance for that matter
4: it wont order flowers for your girl friend
5: it cant cook a steak
6: it cant play blurays
7: it cant do my laundry for me
8: it wont find my car keys if i lose them
9: it cant feed my dog

arrrrgg the list goes on and on and on. im soooooo disapointed in this phone.

j/k
im pertty excited about getting this phone.

Ok, so either someone F'ed up big time or something because I just got a tracking number and I'm slated for delivery tomorrow AM of my Incredible. I've already checked FedEx and the package is at the Memphis,TN facility...

So either A: I'll have a second Moto Droid here tomorrow, or......or.....
B: My Incredible will be here tomorrow lol

You better post info as soon as you get the package so we can all either drool and be jealous of you or chuckle at your misfortune.

I'm hoping it's the jealously thing so you can post a bunch of pictures and videos of the phone.

Just preordered my Incredible from Best Buy. They've promised to price match the $149.99 i'd be getting if i used my NE2.

For those looking to purchase insurance from Best Buy, i would take the pay up front option which will cost $170, last 2 years, and require no deductible should anything happen to your phone.

Incredible
Pro:
Large OLED display
Android with Sense
I'll agree with this...mostly. As far as the screen is concerned, remember that the Incredible reportedly doesn't do as well in bright light conditions. Still, you're going to have a much better time looking at the Incredible when you're indoors. Beyond what you listed, it has a better resolution and the AMOLED display will yield darker blacks and more vivid colors than the iPhone's screen.

Con:
Cheap build quality
Tacky back
Somewhat decent camera
Video is choppy pix-elated and has terrible audio
No usb or hdmi on the bottom ( On the side is so stupid )
The hold and audio jack should be on opposite sides
Someone here had a hands on with the Incredible today. He posted a thread in this form. He said the phone actually felt great in his hands, not cheap at all. Also, those reviewers who were saying that the build wasn't spectacular were comparing the Incredible to the Desire and the HD2. Those are arguably the best built phones on the market. I haven't seen a single review that said the Incredible's build quality felt cheap compared to today's iPhone.

"Tacky back" is a matter of personal taste. I'm not fond of it either, but after dinging up my current phone, I'm planning to get a hardened case for this one. The back won't matter for me. Same thing goes for the protruding lens. If you're not planning to get a case, keep your con.

Even if we assume that the phone Engadget "found" is the next iPhone, we can't really compare cameras. The only thing we know about the iPhone's camera is that it's single flash. If it's anything like the current iPhone's camera, the Incredible will beat it resolution-wise.

The position of the USB port isn't important to me. If you want it on the side, good for you. You might wanna consider this, though: the Motorola Droid has its port on the side. That's why it works so well in its docking station.

iPhone 4G
Pro:
Higher res display
Very solid build with high quality materials
Great design
High capacity storage
Most likely better camera with better video quality
Stereo speakers
Dual mics
Where are you getting all these pros from? I mean that seriously. To my knowledge, we don't KNOW anything about the phone. Sounds like all this is just speculation.

Con:
iPhone OS ( Big factor )
Locked down with iTunes
Smaller screen ( Big factor)
The first two are really the same, but whatever. Overall, it looks like you double listed a few HTC Incredible pros/iPhone cons (build, design, camera quality, etc.) and single listed the rest. What I'm saying is that your list looks padded.

I'm not saying you did that on purpose, or that you're trolling, but your list isn't a very good representation. It's uneven.

I really need help with choosing to get the Incredible now or just wait to see if the iPhone comes to Verizon.
In the end, the Incredible isn't for everyone. Some people are better off with iPhones. I think you're one of those people. Doesn't matter how solid a case we build for the Incredible. In the end you've gotta go with your gut, what'll make you happy. I think the way you built your list shows that you'd probably end up regretting purchasing the Incredible.

and this is exactly why he's considered a troll, laying the incredible on its back touches the lens no more THAN ANY OTHER PHONE, even the rumored new iphone will lay flat on the table meaning the table will touch it, just like with the incredible.

i think your mistaken about the iphone 4g. it has a built in artificial gravity field generator that defies the laws of gravity, when you lay it down on a table it never touches the table because its hovering exactly 2.5 inches of the table. comes in really handy when you acidentally drop it too. it stops at exactly 2.5 inches from the ground every time. too bad the incredible doesent do this. id be all over it if it did. im soo disapointed.

i've always wanted a hover phone to go with my hover board that i got when i went back to the future that time.

Go the market, download "MyBackup Pro" ($4.99) and follow the directions. I'm sure others have different opinions but this is one of the best apps out there. It saves EVERYTHING on your phone to be easily downloaded when you want it. You can even set auto backup to run whenever you want.
Thanks a million!
I don't mind paying a few bucks for an app, but I hate to just take a risk on something that might not do what I need it to.
I'll see if I can find a vid or review, just to make sure, but it sounds like you may have found me a solution.
Thanks again!

Yea sorry I didn't put much thought into the list. I just started typing what ever I could think of. I cant believe you haven't heard about the leak of the new iPhone. Its everywhere. Some guy found it at a bar and gave it to Gizmodo. They took it apart and found apple branded parts and they also contacted the owner who was a technical engineer or something for Apple. Check the site if you wanna see pics and videos. I most likely will stick with the Incredible. Android and Sense UI is amazing

Engadget says the signal is amazing!

"As usual, Verizon's network was outstanding. We know everyone already accepts how rock-solid Big Red's connections are, but we'd like to point out that at various times while riding an NYC subway underground, the Incredible managed to squeeze connectivity out of the big V. In fact, when we first took the phone out of its box we were riding the train, and it picked up enough data to auto-update our time and location. Now that really is something."
Droid Incredible review -- Engadget

Without comparing to other devices, that is not a point of the device as much as the network. At least five reviews have pointed out the weak signal and three were comparing to Droid and a "two bar difference" in signal. A review that praises the signal without another device to compare is pointless.

Just get the device and compare for yourself. Most definitive way to do it. I will buy both, add a second line for the Droid and compare them. I will keep the one with the strongest signal :)

I actually think this is a perfect design, so when you buy your protective cover, the camera will end up being flush with it.

I really like the idea of leveling out the back! Thanks for the thought.

OFF TOPIC:

Speaking of cameras, while i was working on a v e r y s l o w chat with a nice person at Verizon because here computer was s l o w because the website is still down so I can't upgrade to the Incredible yet(!) I blundered across this, which I hope someone may enjoy as much as I did:

does your hover board have built in gps navigation, hd satalite radio, and rocket boosters. if not i heard steve jobs is making one. it can also wash your car for you and walk the dog, but it wont feed the dog. soo disapointing that it cant even feed the dog.

I've got a few questions regarding the screen of the Incredible.

  1. It uses the exact same AMOLED screen as the N1 (although for some reason the physical size of the screen on the Incred appears slightly narrower), correct?
  2. The Incredible uses a DIFFERENT touch processing chip than the N1, which is why it doesn't have any of the multitouch issues, correct?
  3. Are both of these points true, and if so, have we confirmed that the Incredible does in fact use the PenTile Matrix pixel arrangement, as described here?

Thanks in advance.

haha I think you guys are making yourselves look dumber and dumber. If you read my post correctly I said when you lay the phone on its back the lens touches whatever you set your phone on. The iPhone's camera is inside the phone so when you lay it down it doesn't touch anything.

I think the lens is recessed back, it's just touching the trim ring around the lens.
