Root ZTE Force - Major issues need recovery help

I bought a few of these phones for my staff and just so happened to lend mine to an employee to use. They returned it upon being fired and the phone is about as good to me as a paperweight/brick(??)

It turns on and off but only displays the green android guy in the center of the screen. My PC won't recognize it (I assume because the drivers are not installed) but does show it as an "unknown device" in the device manager connected to a USB port. I have spent the last 12 hours trying to find help in forums and finally have no other choice but to post and pray that someone can help me.

Thanks in advance for putting up with my lack of knowledge and "dumbing down" any answers as I am relatively new to using androids.

What happens if you try to boot into Recovery mode? Press and hold both Down Volume and Power keys at the same time. If it does enter rec mode then try to wipe the data, cache and dalvik. Then try to reboot. If it doesn't then I suspect that he/she did somethin stupid or purposely to it. :rolleyes:
 
It turns on with the green android logo, no recovery options, no text, no ZTE logo. Just the android guy.

I was hoping that because the PC recognized that it was attached there would be a way to install the drivers and run adb, fastboot and essentially install cwm recovery. Please try not to laugh to hard if this approach is ridiculous and clearly demonstrates my complete lack of knowledge.
 
No laughing matter Becky.
You dont want to install cwm either if you need to send it back to ZTE for replacement. If it will not go into the stock recovery mode then it is most likely soft bricked. ZTE has not yet released any updates nor the tool to fix it. The good news is, it is still covered by the factory warranty.
