Help Terrible performance 3G on Verizon network

I'm wondering if anybody else has this problem and if there is any kind of fix for it. I have heard so many times that people did not want to use 4G because it kills their battery. Well mine is the exact opposite. My phone is awesome on 4G and keeps it's battery life very well. However, on 3G, it's terrible. It's always been like this but I never posted about it. 2 days ago I wanted to see something so while I was at work I kept an eye on it. At 7 oclock my battery was at 95% and had good 3G signal. At 9:30 and after not using the phone AT ALL the battery was all the way down to 70%. No apps are causing this. I have checked a million times and it's always the same thing. 3G kills my battery even when I don't use the phone. And along with that 3G can barely open a webpage, or even facebook which is pathetic. The only time I have good battery life is on 4G or wifi.

Does anybody else experience this? Is it common? It's ridiculous that I don't even turn on the screen and within two hours it drops 25%. That's unacceptable. I know all about the battery apps and everything and this is of no help. Like I said, it isn't apps that are running in the background or anything like that. This has been a common thing since I got the phone for me. As soon as it hits 3G the battery plummets. Which is weird since my old Galaxy which was only 3G didn't do this at all.

Theres an app that disables data when the screen is off, cant remember the name sorry.
Also maybe theres a way to make the phone only use 4g?

mikes1,

Why keep data on if your not using it:questionmark:
Unless U have some app that U need always
connected, it will drain (its the nature of the beast).
I just turn off data when I'am not using it.

Or like funkylogik said use an app that disables data
when the screen is off. Like this one
