Root [Virgin Mobile] What ROMs can be used on this phone? Will any Sprint ROM work?

I typically don't buy an Android smartphone until it has a well developed rooting/ROM community, but I got a great deal on this phone and couldn't pass it up.

It appears that the hardware is identical to the Sprint SGS3. I would like to get rid of this clunky Touchwiz and go to Cyanogen but I'm nervous that since this phone boots with a Virgin Mobile splash screen that there actually might be a different between this SGS3 and the Sprint one.

Does anyone know if the ROMs that work for Spring SGS3 will work for the Virgin Mobile one?

I dont know bro soz but the first thing id do is root and flash a custom recovery so you can make a full backup incase anything goes wrong. Mainly because it is such a new device :thumbup:

What if you freeze the stock messenger and use Go SMS app with the "stock messenger uninstalled" setting checked?

the Virgin Mobile APN file in that thread is different from the one from my phone. I backed it up and was hoping to import it into another sprint rom but I am struggling to find enough info to do this or if it would even work.

I tried to make the nandroid backup flashable in android kitchen but keep getting an error about the file not being a .tar file.

I tried 2 sprint roms but can't get into the APN's on either rom. I thought being custom they would have given access to them but they didn't.
