Help Calls dropping!

Anyone else with the Elite having issues making and receiving calls?

The Elite my wife had just all of a sudden just started dropping all calls for no reason. Within 10 seconds of the call connecting it will drop.

When it happens it show signal lost and then a toast popup says "Call has been lost"

Of course Virgin said it was phone so they sent her new one.. Didn't fix... Then it was her account so I tried it on my account.. Didn't work.. Then it was network problem in our area.. Yet all our other phones work... Gave it 72 hours and nothing..

So finally I picked her up a Kyocera Event and everything is good now.. We gave elite to a friend to try who lives 2 hours away and is having the same issues with it there.

Not looking for solution since phone is gone but just curious if anyone else is having or has had this. issue

Could be a "PRL" issue

Could have been the SIM card all along. Sometimes merely removing and putting it back in (after powering down) remedies the unreliability with calls.

If the card is corrupted, it needs to be replaced (obviously ;)).

It's inexplicable that the Elite has so many issues relating to connectivity compared to other phones. It must be a design or manufacturing flaw. It's a shame nobody who has the capacity to reverse-engineer the phone and find the problem would care to do so on a phone that's already near its end of life.

I couldn't agree more.

My wife's elite has been having the same issue. She would lose calls seconds after connecting. We were told by best buy that sprint was upgrading towers in the area and it would be about four days, well here we are 2 weeks later and the phone is still worthless.

I would go down the road some others have already done: ask VM to, specifically, reset the account. That may fix the call dropping issue. For whatever reason, most of the OE problems that aren't OS-related, seem to have to do with VM and user accounts that the phone is tied to.

Ive been having issues with calls dropping for the last several months on my Kyocera Event. Ive done everything from a factory reset to contacting Virgin Mobile support and the issue still persists and given no answer or solution to the problem. Its unfortunate that I feel somewhat comforted by hearing others that are experiencing the same issues.
